"I definitely want to give them a big shoutout for catering my dinner with a few hours notice. They went all out with the menu and we had so much food leftover even after everyone got a to go bag! Everyone was raving how amazing the food was. Souper Pho is definitely hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Hampton Roads. The food is delicious and as authentic as it can be. The owner has a lot of soul and you can tell how much he loves his restaurant and the customers."

"I usually don’t like meaty sandwiches. My partner said this is famous we should check out and I couldn’t say no. I chose Cubano because it has spicy mustard yes I love spicy food. In the end Cubano was the best. I also really appreciate spicy sauces; honey habanero and jalapeño. They go well with everything! I also encountered my friend’s mom who lives in VA beach! Obviously, this place is a place to go. Overall, fun and delicious experience!"

"We were greeted when we walked in had the menu explained by a really nice lady. We got the seafood combo with crabby fries and whiting platter with grits and hushpuppies. The cornmeal batter is everything and the huge pieces of whiting were on another level. The butter crunch cake and toffee cookies... delicious! The entire restaurant (especially the restrooms) was spotless and the staff cleaned constantly. Great portion sizes and fair pricing as well. Another black owned business that is doing it right consistently ??????"

"My family and I have been coming here since they opened . I have always had amazing service and the food was always excellent. I will say I was disappointed today In the customer service . I felt like I was being rushed to eat so I could then leave . Another thing I was also confused about was last week when I came with my family and was turned away due to “ dine in closed “ which was odd because we have ate here before past 8oclock . I can definitely tell management has changed over the time ."

"So me and my fiance got food tonight I ammmm so glad I didn’t eat it. The fries were brown like they were over cooked and the salad had a fruit fly in the salad I never seen that before from chic fil a they have really slacked off a whole lot in the hampton roads areas. They are so much like a wendys or mcdonalds I would definitely expect more from them. The chicken strips don’t seem like they are cooked in the inside"

"When I worked at Fort Monroe years ago, I used to treat myself to Wilkes a few times a month. I moved to Petersburg in 2015 and missed the Carolina style BBQ. Moved back to Hampton in 2019 and I forgot about Wilkes until recently. Been looking for good BBQ since. All the places around here have heavily smoked BBQ with tons of seasonings and sauce. These chain BBQ you can't tell the beef from the pork because there is so much smoke and seasoning. For folks that are familiar with Carolina style BBQ, it is totally different from that type of BBQ.Stopped by Wilkes yesterday and it's still the best Carolina BBQ in the area. The collard greens are unmatched by any other restaurant in the area. Two dinners with sides for $20. You are going to pay more than twice that amount at the other BBQ places in the area.I don't understand these folks from out of state giving this place a bad review. From their reviews, they obviously don't know what Carolina BBQ is. Also, I saw comments that this place buys their foods in bulk from one of the membership stores. I have personally seen the cook carrying in a fresh full side of pork and fresh picked collards from his personal vehicle. That is why you can only get the collards in winter.Please don't trash the food if you don't understand the type of BBQ or the style of cooking. If you want food with so much smoke and seasoning that you can't tell the difference between pork, beef or chicken, go to one of those chain restaurants. If you want real Carolina BBQ and fresh from the garden greens, this place will not disappoint. This is one of the few family owned businesses that still remain in Hampton after many years. It's not fancy, in fact the building looks a little run down but the food is good and the prices are the best in the area."
