This has always been one of my Wife and I's favorite restaurant for a night out.
Great spot in Hanalei, big city flavor and environment in a small town Pricing is a bit steep for the size of the tapas.
I dieI've been mourning the loss of my favorite restaurant - the Slow Club in San Francisco for years now.

"Loved this island BBQ joint. Great no frills BBQ. Delicious flavor on all the items that we had. The chicken and ribs were tender and tasty. The definite star of the meal was the loaded fries! So awesome! Loaded with cheese, cilantro sauce, pico de gallo, and chicken (you choose the meat). I?d go back just for those! The employees were great too. Explained the menu and choices, and made suggestions."

"The ambience at Bar Acura is great. The servers were very attentive and polite, they even helped us to our table a little earlier than we had booked. The wine list is also good, and they prepared some really good mocktails with local lilikoi. The food itself is average. We had tomato on bruschetta which was not a traditional pan con tomate, but more a tomato in balsamic sauce for you to dip bread into. It was too acidic. We also had the clams, which were tasty enough, but the portion size was too small. The Hawaiian fish was excellent cooked very nicely indeed, but unfortunately the pineapple purée was grainy and did not work in terms of flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had tangerine sorbet and cheesecake, which were excellent. This was definitely the highlight of the email. Overall we felt that the food here was acceptable but very much overpriced. All in our bill was $200 for two of us. Food in Kauai is generally expensive so this is not an outrageous amount, but frankly we left a little hungry and underwhelmed by the flavours. When we asked for more bread, they were very stingy and brought two slices of baguette. For this price, we would expect a bread basket to be regularly replenished. This is a tapas restaurant, and the portions should rightly be small. However at these prices, they are too small and not particularly incredible."

"Service was great. We could get a table on the veranda with a fantastic view of the mountains. The food was average. The fish and chips and Fish/Shrimp Tacos were decent, nothing special. Papaya Coleslaw was interesting to try. 3 stars for food, but a total of 4 stars considering the friendly service, ambience and views."

"If you don 't get the brussels sprouts, you 're a fool. I 'm not kidding. Get them. Also, get a reservation as soon as you can. It fills up super quick now. Came here several years ago, and was adamant to come back. It did not disappoint, although it is MUCH more popular than before. We weren 't able to get a reservation, and the advice we got was: come back around 8:15 when it dies down, or get in line at 4:15 4:30 the next day . Luckily I was stubborn and wasn 't a quitter and we got seated after about 30 minutes basically b/c someone was late for their reservation. The atmosphere is probably the most idyllic I 've ever seen, it 's not too crowded (hence the wait w/out a reservation), and the drinks and food are always outstanding. The menu isn 't super deep, but they do everything well. If I had to pick items now: bao buns, brussels sprouts (probably 2x), chasu or ono ramen depending on mood, and the donuts for dessert, although the coconut chocolate pot de creme was also really damn good."

"Great place for a tasty and easy breakfast! Super fresh from the bread to the veggies. There is a nice covered porch to sit and eat. Friendly staff. Can pick up a sandwich and have them wrap it in foil for a hike."
