"I have been coming to Hanmer Springs every year since 2013. The meal I had here tonight was the best meal I have ever had in Hanmer Springs. In fact, the best meal I have had for a long time. I will now eat no where else on my visits."

"Beautiful meals and exceptional service. Loved my blue cod dinner special- and seemed everyone else did too as I believe every table after ordered the same. Crème brûlée was silky smooth and had the perfect crunch on top. Empty plates were never on table longer than a few minutes, and the table was checked on the perfect amount. Would recommend to anyone wanting a high quality dining experience."

"Extremely disappointing experience. We called through our order ahead of time so it would be ready when we arrived. We called at 5.23pm and were quoted 40 minutes. We arrived at 6pm to pay and wait the last couple of minutes for our meal to be told the wait was another 20 minutes. I was shocked as that would make an hours wait. Unfortunately the service was very poor and it in fact did take the 20 minutes, once they worked out what was going on. If I had been told the wait would be an hour on the phone when I ordered I would not have continued with our order. It was already a push waiting 40 minutes until 6pm for our meal for our 2 year old to then discover the additional 20 minutes bringing it to an hours wait was incredibly frustrating and barely an apology given. No one seemed to look like they knew what was going on and the service and wait was not worth it for the $90 we paid for some burgers and fries. Meal was alright ish but ultimately not worth the time or money. Have visited 3 previous times in the last year however won’t be rushing back sadly. "On the one hand, it’s wonderful to have a place with so many vegan options in such a small town. Alas, on the other hand, it’s just not that good. I so wanted to like this place, and I even came twice, thinking they might have had an off day on my first visit. The kumara and pumpkin soup was ok: a bit on the bland side, and the toast that was served with it was so greasy, I didn’t eat it all. The passion fruit cheese cake was better, lots of passion fruit flavor and tartness. The brunch burrito was a disappointment, not really resembling the description in the menu (the avocado and tofu weren’t incorporated but were served on the side in large chunks) or even a burrito for that matter. The raspberry chocolate brownie was mostly sweet and lacked the richness of chocolate flavor that is the hallmark of a brownie."
