Having popped in for drinks on a cold afternoon, we found there was a quiz on that evening and decided to return for that, with a meal beforehand. On both visits we were made to feel very welcome, children and dog included. Food was simple and tasty. Very traditional pub with no mobile phones allowed which made for a convivial atmosphere. What GlobeT905 doesn't like about Radcliffe Arms:
We came here for Sunday lunch. It’s a no frills Sam Smith pub, so don’t expect a wide range of different beers. Also when we came we were told there were just 2 options for lunch, pork or beef. View all feedback.
From the telephone call to take the table reservation, through the ordering of the me to the meal on the table everything was right about this restaurant. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food. Try the pies they are home baked and well presented. The desserts are scrumptious too. Recommended.
I was very impressed with this restaurant. They have a great selection of beer and food at reasonable prices. The outdoor area is also very nice and definitely worth checking out.
I didn't actually go into the pub, however you got a very homely feel the minute you step near it; friendly locals and a pretty nice looking menu. Just what you would expect from a sam Smith pub.
We loved this pub! What a great find. It's about a 25 minute walk from Rudding Holiday park, so perfect if you are staying there. We went for lunch, and we weren't disappointed. The meals were lovely, freshly cooked and the chef very accommodating when we asked for variations. The landlady was extremely welcoming and could not do enough for us. We went with 4 young children and a dog in tow, and nothing was too much trouble The drinks are very reasonably priced too, we will definitely be going back.
Booked for Sunday lunch, which we enjoyed in the historic restaurant section of the pub. Only two choices available ie beef and pork, but we enjoyed both. Very good value for money. We also enjoyed the desserts of sticky toffee, and sticky ginger puddings. Pub was very quiet so a little lacking in atmosphere, but landlady did say it had been very busy the previous day. Very cosy and warm on a winter's day with real fires.
