On a recent visit to Essex, having moved to the midlands, I was desperate for a taste of proper East End pie and mash. I chose this one in Hornchurch as I could park near by and pick up a take away before heading back to the M25. I ordered my take away and filled up on a single pie and mash to fortify me for the journey and to taste their wares (as Simple Simon once said to the pie man… Very nice! Service was excelle... This is not a proper east end pie and mash shop. Went in there yesterday with family and the food was really poor. The pies were quite small and not freshly cooked , very dry. My wife and daughter had the eels which were thin and really, really small pieces ,about 1cm. long, pathetic portions.Most of us had really bad indigestion after eating there.
