Cheap and yum! In any case, worth a visit if they have not been there. With this location you can establish your own bowl, select the selector level of spicy and sauce to add. Mid-spicy, however, is hot for me, and I have a sensible tolerant for sharp food, so the next time I'll be mild next time, it could only be right! View all feedback.
What Κλεάνθης Σολωμός doesn't like about Yang Guo Fu Malatang:
The idea is simple: Grab a bowl, choose the entire vegetable / toppings / noodles that you want and pay by weight.
Grief
I always noticed how popular it in the different places you have (Burwood, Chatswood and Chinatown), but only tried number, which should be called, but it was understandable if you consider how busy it was. I would definitely go back to try other variations! View all feedback.
For us this was a good and cheaper alternative to a Sichuan hot pot.
This review is for the stall located in Dixon Food Court where it all started ! Basically, it's a choose your own adventure soup meal.
So you're down with pho, you love laksa, and you can tonkotsu ramen with the best of them? If you're ready for Sydney's next big soup thing, it's malatang.
Great tasting noodle soup which allows you to pick your own ingredients physically. Price is determined by weight, so heavy noodles will usually cost you more. I average around $14-$16 a trip. There is a good selection of toppings for your noodles including varity of balls; fish balls, taro balls, pork balls and lots of vegetables to pick from. My favourite are the fish and squid along with some hotpot beef and mushrooms. I've never had any major sicknesses after eating, but if you dont ask for less spicy.. prepare yourself for a painful morning in the toilet. In general the hygiene is "alright", compared to Burwood where food is rotated regular and food is always kept fish - this city store is not as concentrated on hygiene as Burwood. You can often see a lot of excess water under the ingredients that should have been gotten rid of. Their soup base is my favourate part. It is full of flavour - they add garlic, sesame sauce, sesame oil, chill (and probably a lot of MSG) Pros : Great fun picking yourself food. Good variety of hotpot ball options and vegetables. Soup base is amazing! Con : Hygiene may be an issue when there is low turnover as food does not get rotated. Must get : Fish, taro balls, squid, mushrooms
