"Large small pub and food stop in a picturesque village in a distant place of NS. The food is great and the staff is friendly. I recommend taking your family here. German cuisine was also good. The journey from East Lahave to Lunenburg (as they fix the bridge) is spectacular, or the other way around for a great sunset after dinner."

"The cafe was closing as we came by at 3:35 (they close at 3:30) but the staff member welcomed us and was delightful. Coming from Ottawa I found this to be amazing service. The boss was away and the 2 staff members kept the lights on and the place running excellently. Bravo you two. Well done!!!"

"Delicious home-cooked flavor, great house-made balsamic, food nicely presented, and even a few adventurous combinations like the chocolate avocado mousse. The careworn cramped interior lined with local artist's canvases has bright pastel walls and antique furniture. The Italian tomato soup was particularly flavorful and fresh. The red-currant tart was certainly tart, but balanced by a drizzle of sweet red currant sauce and a heavier pastry closer to shortcake. The avocado mousse, frankly, had a little too much earthy flavor of avocado, but was creamy smooth and richly chocolate and it was a nice departure from the standard mousse. All in all a pleasant stop for lunch."

"The restaurant was busy on a Saturday evening, but we managed to get a table even without a reservation. The food was GREAT. We had a fabulous bean salad a grilled salmon risotto with fresh sweet peas that was out of this world. The salmon was fresh delicious and the risotto was flavoured just perfectly. Portions were large (perhaps too large! and the meal was memorable. Who would know that a gourmet-style meal could be had at the deli-bar of a small in on Lunenburg’s main thoroughfare? A must-try when passing through this town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Food drinks: The restaurant is SPLENDID."
