The skipper keeps you on one even keel when you are hungry. For travellers you will get a tasty place that is visited by locals and good food served at great value and not too far from the highway. Check all cars waiting on the page to pick up the order. I never really took care of Hush puppies until I tried them at Skippers, still hot. Would you like an additional basket? Hellz yes!
Stop at Skippers in Henderson on the way to Raleigh. I would read the positive reviews and wait to check it. First: Although the BBQ was a bit too vinegary for my taste, the fried chicken, free Hush puppies, and Mac and cheese were amazing. Chickens and Hush puppies were fried to perfection and not fat. Restaurant was clean and COVID suitable. The owner was super nice...a 4 generation business. If you're worth a stop in the area.
The first time really try hush puppies and WOW they are sooo delicious here! Chewed catfish and okra was amazing!
Had the bbq plate. Delicious. Had a friend with us. He said it was great. Great server. Will return.
