The best fried chicken I’ve ever had and hot wings are made from scratch and by hand unlike a lot of frozen ones I’ve had elsewhere. Noticed a review about them closing down which I think is meant for another chicken n spice, not this one. This one has been run by a lovely couple since early 2000 and never changed hands. I did not enjoy this take away at all. It was edible but not very pleasant. Big, raw lumps of onion in the stuffed crust, overcooked pizza, dry doner meat, chips were alright. read more.

I have 2 children under 2 so this place has been a godsend the last couple of years during those pregnancy cravings and long nights; however I've been ordering...

"We popped in here for lunch with our granddaughter without knowing if it was any good. We had a very pleasant lunch. It was freshly prepared and the drinks were good. The staff were very helpful and we were served promptly, without feeling rushed. In my opinion the prices were good, better value than the well known chains and better quality. We will go again. We didn't try the cakes this time, but they looked good."

"We had a well-deserved coffee and cake at Willow Trees Café after a lovely cross county walk. Refreshments were excellent and it was nice sitting outside by the river Lea (there was even a swan on the river with several young cygnets). There is not much parking at (or near) the Café so most people walk from Wheathampstead (along the Lea Valley Walk) or walk cycle from Harpenden along the old railway line (which is also part of the Lea Valley Walk). The café does have a set of cycle racks. It should be noted that the café is only at weekends and bank holiday Monday’s between May Bank Holiday weekend and August Bank Holiday Monday. Contactless payment is now accepted and additional outside seating has recently been added."
