I would drive way out of my way to come here. The staff are outgoing, the communication between servers and the back of house is efficient and well trained, the decorations are fun and eye catching. My western sandwich featured massive chunks of ham with a buttery perfectly-cooked hash brown side. Slice of banana cream pie was heavenly and the best vanilla milkshake I’ve ever had. Will return and bring the family. In... View all feedback.
What Marian Gosling doesn't like about Crazy Otto's Empire Diner:
Ordered a 5-option Omelette as I've had several times before when visiting area. Hash browns were buttery x-large . However, my omelette was very disappointing. Bacon bits instead of SLICED crispy bacon, CANNED mushrooms instead of fresh, very little of requested cheddar and green peppers were haphazardly cut. Again, this is not the chef quality of prior years!! My regrets to Scott (owner) and hopes he can turn this... View all feedback.
Some of the most friendly and efficient wait staff and servers you can meet. Herkimer residents visiting this scenic diner can be very happy to call them friends outside and inside of Crazy Otto 's! The food is always good, homemade meals on a trip along the NYS Thruway is worth the branch from the Interstate 90. Don't miss her soup Special of the Day. Regardless of what it is, it is served piping hot and will be delicious. Never a bad dinner here. Broken fish to Cajun chicken to signature burgers, they are all good. Sweet potatories are another side trip worth taking! Save space for Dessert...
Good service, good dinner, cool atmosphere!!! Lately three times on vacation. Only real problem was cold chicken, but waiter took care of it quickly and friendly. I would definitely recommend a stop at this fun local diner!
We found this Dinner on a “ Hey SIRI” search for breakfast. I looked it up and it looked unique. I love unique! So we had to try it. The people were very friendly and inviting and the menus was crazy huge! From gluten options for my wife to a flat out delicious burger (yes for breakfast) we were impressed with the taste. I was so very happy we were able to eat here. The owners even came outside to look at our race trucks! We were honored to have meet them and eaten here.
What fun it is to eat here, and we even got to sing Happy Birthday to someone. If it's a relaxing nostalgic atmosphere you like, this is the place to go. The owner, Scott is a rip, the employees are friendly, and the service is fast and delicious.
One of the best breakfast meals we've ever had! Such a fun atmosphere and one of the people in our party was in the right seat when the train went by so he got his breakfast free. We can't wait to come back some day. P.S. VERY attentive staff-I've never seen people so on the ball. Thank you for a great experience.
