Good food, good deals on drinks. Fantastic outdoor seating overlooking a river full of fish, turtles and gators. Lots of parking, kind of long wait but they also have a store full of stuff and candy and also an icecream store. The mushrooms were particularly good. Will be back try different food View all feedback.
What Susan T doesn't like about Silver Dolphin Country Store:
We came across this place driving down from Pine Island so dropped in for lunch. We had inside seating and wished i had chosen outside because I found the music too loud. My husband had the Fishermen's Platter with so much fried clam strip that he needed a box to take some home. Shame that all the fish was battered. I had the 10oz Sirloin Shrimp which was enjoyable but nothing special. I did think the prices were a t... View all feedback.
Had the eggs Benedict, for breakfast, which one came with grilled shrimp and the other came with sirloin tips. Our outside table was near the water where we could see an alligator swimming. Great place!!! We will definitely eat there again when in the area.
Awesome spot, awesome food, awesome service. Great pancakes, I like the sausages and I don't think my coffee cup ever got empty once, ever.
Since we like to try new places to explore in Florida, this time, we decided on Hernando Beach. And we always check some reviews of restaurants to see if anything Pops Out at us. we had a few ideas and away we went. A beautiful day for a beautiful ride. Hernando Beach is interesting to see,but the Silver Dolphin is where you want to eat. We were amused by the various items in the front, in and around the restauran. We especially liked the 2 Silver Dolphins Sculpture , outside the Main Entrance. They were busy, but we didn 't have to wait. Our Waitress Molly was very friendly and gracious. We asked her what would she recommend to eat, while she was able to list quite a few items and offered her suggestions. She is an asset to the resturant. We had Lobster. My wife had the Lobster Roll w/ Potato Salad, and I had the 3 Decker Lobster Salad Club (BLT) w/ Crispy Fries. They were delicious meals. We were impressed when they arrived. They were served with Chunks of Lobster Claw Meat , and they put a nice portion of the Lobster Meat in each sandwich. We 've had Lobster Rolls before, but this was very good, but the potato salad, was Ok. But everyone makes it different, it wasn 't bad, just not what we were expecting. Someone else might like it. I was really impressed with the Lobster BLT, as I 've never had a Lobster BLT before. But all of the Quarters of the sandwich stayed together as you bit into each piece. The lobster meat never fell out, as sometimes happens when you eat a regular BLT, the lettuce, bacon, tomato slides apart. The last bite was as good as the 1st bite . The Crispy Fries were just that, Good Crispy Fries, and we ate them all. We finish eating by sharing a dish of Ice Cream, which was the way to finish a very good meal. The Kitchen staff should be commended for a Job Well Done!! Afterwards, we walked around your little slice of Paradise , and checked out the Secret Garden , and the Country Store. You have some interesting things to look at. We laughed at some of the items in the Garden and the store. Yes, we will be back someday. Everyone was so friendly which makes us enjoy places like this for both the food and the memories.
And just like that.. I may never eat here again... We came here a few days ago (my mom visiting, me, hubby and kids). I ordered one of my favorites- a buffalo chicken wrap and bite #2 one of the worst things you can find in your food.. a long dark hair. I nearly threw up. It was strung throughout the wrap. You couldn't just pick it out. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat anything that night and I was starving. My hubby ordered the same thing and couldn't eat his food. I may never eat out again. Health and safety must not be a happening in the kitchen otherwise a hair wouldn't have been strung throughout my entire wrap. I still gag just thinking about it. I have written this place really great reviews in the past but this ruined this place for good for me which honestly stinks because I loved taking my kids here looking in the store and feeding the turtles but I'm never eating here again. Our waitress said she was sorry and it was taken off our bill but still I feel like more should have been done. It was such an awful experience and didn't just ruin my meal but everyone else's. Who wants to eat after seeing someone gag on food with hair in it. I should have taken a picture of the wrap. It was a long black hair. It couldn't have been mine. I'm blonde. Also it was strung through my wrap. Bleh. Just so gross. We were there from about 7-8:30 Friday night sitting outside just in case the owner sees this and wants to think about who was working/how this could have happened. To add, it doesn't seem like they have sprayed in awhile- there were live ants everywhere near our table we were eating at and we were eaten alive by little black flying demon bugs. I hope this helps improve your restaurant. I was really disappointed and honestly sad this happened because I used to consider this one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in the area. Not anymore. Pictures are of my mom and toddler feeding the turtles. We will miss them. I no longer recommend this restaurant.
On our way home from visiting the Crystal River Archaeological State Park, we took a detour to Hernando Beach to visit a restaurant recommended by the newsletter “Only in Your State”. The detour was worth it. The restaurant was excellent value for money. We ate in the indoor dining room as the weather was threatening rain, but we’ll be back to eat on the very pretty patio next to the canal. The food was delicious. We started with a Spinach and Artichoke Dip served with green, red and regular color Tortilla chips, then followed with Delicious Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, baked beans and a side salad for my wife and a Grilled Hamburger Steak topped with sauteed onions and beef gravy with baked beans and french fries for me. Service from Alyssa M was great. We complemented the meal with a glass of house wine each. The total bill before tip was $61.71. Great value for money.Parking: In front of the restaurant
