What LeicesterGolfer likes about Upstairs At Charlotte's:
Visited Buxton for the week end and went in here for coffee and cakes. Downstairs was very full so went upsairs (there is a lift . Quite quaint and airy. Roof tereace not open as too cold. Ordered coffee, carrot cake, lemon drzzle cake and cinnamon and rasin scone. Perhaps a little slow but we were on holiday and in no hurry. All were very well presented by attentive and friendly staff. Spoke to the chef about one of... View all feedback.

What swpratt doesn't like about Upstairs At Charlotte's:
...write a review of Charlotte's last Saturday . 5 of us including 2 small children found a table for 4 upstairs but were told by the waitress that we couldn't move another chair as it would impede access. 2 small children would not have taken up much room and the welcome wasn't friendly so we decided to leave.

"Went out to REMS for one of the BEST family meals EVER on Good Friday Evening! A Fantastic selection of TAPAS all cooked to a very high standard, with a good selection of different gins for the wife too!! The kids even had a second portion of their favourite dish, long after the adults were full! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. It is easy to find being on the main street through Chapel-en-le-Frith."

"The Commercial Inn has recently won local MP, Robert Largen's “Best Pub in the High Peak” award. The pub is located on the corner of Manor Park Road and Sheffield Road but doesn't have it's own car park although street parking is available. The pub was clean and well presented and comprises three rooms that could be described as the bar area, pool room and dining area. Three large muted TV screens were turned on in the pool room and bar areas. The bar staff were smartly dressed and very polite. A food menu was provided but it was necessary to ask for the lunchtime menu which was eventually received. Two real ales were on offer: Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Solar Wave Hazy IPA as well as a good selection of lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. We ordered a ciabatta from the lunchtime menu as well as a meal from the main menu. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and when received had garden peas instead of the mushy peas that were requested (not a deal breaker but does show inefficiency). The food was of good quality, tastey and well presented. The value for money was OK and if you are in the area it's well worth giving the Commercial Inn a try."

"About min walk from the centre of Buxton, have been here a couple of times for very good quality gluten free fish and chips and prices very reasonable. Friendly staff! Definitely recommend."
