"On the way to the Balnakeil beach, we kept short here and brought us hot chocolate and brownies. Both very delicious and recommended! I found the atmosphere less inviting. Inside, it had an uncomfortable factor, so we set ourselves out. It's a good stop for between, but no more."

"Best burger and coffee in the North of Scotland. A warm welcome, great views. Lovely gift shop. A very pleasant surprise. Even saw an Eagle after coffee..... now that's worth travelling for. If you're up this way on or in the area you gotta drop in here."

"A beautiful hotel and restaurant on NC 500 route. EV charging station in the lay-by at the front of the hoo. Room was lovely, nice big bed, double shower, complimentary sherry was a lovely touch. Restaurant was excellent, wish we’d stayed two nights. Food was delicious. Salmon steak on a pea risotto, Rooms: Beautifully furnished, nice sized room, comfy bed, lovely bathroom. Fully equipped with tea and coffee etc. milk in a flask to keep it cold, Singapore. Walkability: Reasonable accessibility. Varrich castle is around a 2 mile walk, definitely worth the trek uphill, well signposted. Views weee amazing Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet"

"Settled back from the road it’s lucky there are signs for this gem of a restaurant/pub/hotel. We were lucky to get one of the last seats on a busy Wednesday night. The menu is full of lots of delicious choices and the staff are really friendly (as are the locals! The portions are a good size and the food is mouthwatering (especially the sticky toffee pudding! I had the goats cheese salad, beer battered fish chips and sticky toffee pudding. My dad had the lobster bisque, breaded fish chips and apple pie. Their covid regulations make you feel safe whilst dining, including a one way system for the toilet to make sure you don’t bump into anyone. If you are driving the NC500 or staying locally make sure this place is on your list of places to visit. It is also perfectly situated for one of the most beautiful views."

"The restaurant is in a beautiful old lodge next to Scourie harbour. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly and efficient. I had shank of lamb with oyster mushrooms which was beautifully cooked, and the rhubarb ice cream was lovely. As the restaurant is not licensed you need to bring your own alcohol (which is a big money saving). Reservations are needed, highly recommend booking a table if you are staying in Scourie or nearby or passing through. Surprised (but happy) to find such a great restaurant in this idyllic remote location"
