"We are almost not here. the outside first looked at a small sketch. but we went in and are thrilled. the 2 server were amazing and that really eat at the point. probably our favorite place to eat on our trip. just withdraw. outside could use fans. wings were great! afteros killed and the margarita was one of the best I had. out of scream for jordanien and dao"

"Food was bad. Service was HORRIBLE. DISGUSTING AND RUDE KITCHEN STAFF. Not a great place to have food at. 1. Staff is very rude when complained about sour palak paneer (probably due to cream), under cooked lamb, undercooked peas, sour mango lassi, burned veg pakora they said next time food will be better. On requesting if they can cook it again for us, they rudely declined. This is tourist place where we will not come again. 2. Ambiance was not welcoming. When we complained to the chef and manager they were more interested in cutting the talk about the food and doing small talk about where we are from. Bathrooms, sitting area as unclean and unhygienic. Unfortunately there aren't any other Indian food options on Big Island otherwise their business would have shutdown already. Their other branch in Kona has really good food. Probably the kitchen staff including the cook are good people who know their job and are good reasonable human beings. "One of the best freshly made Thai food I have ever had. We ordered fried rice and spring roll. Still dreaming how awesome it was. We were greeted well by the waiter and he made it feel like home. Best choice after dipping in the ocean or just some flavorful food.. highly recommend"

"We tried this gem for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We arrived soon after their opening just in case it gets packed on a Sunday morning. They have a very large indoor dining area and a small outdoor one. They offered the outdoor seating and added that no alcohol is served outside. Worked for us. There was room to seat about 18 people outside. Staff here were all very professional and efficient. They even had decaffeinated coffee, which was something did not often found available. We decided on a Hawaiian Style loco moco and a Hawaiian Style siamin. Both items came out pretty quickly. We chose brown rice and over easy eggs for the loco moco. The tasty gravy combined with the soft egg made for super umami sauce for the nicely crusted burger. It's a lot of food, but we did our best. The homemade dashi in the saimin was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I prefer noodle soups with more veggies. That isn't how typical saimins are, but that's okay. The toppings were good. I couldn't eat all the noodles, but I didn't waste the broth. We'd definitely come back the next time we're in Hilo. It's great that they are open later. Later being past 7pm! With their big menu, there are choices for everyone."

"Ken’s House of Pancakes is a step back in time in a good way. When you go where the locals hang out the portions are big, food is solid, prices are fair and service is great! Our family loved the homey vibe and welcoming servers. The coffee is good and they bring you your own thermal carafe as a bonus. We enjoyed the veggie omelette with rice, Mac-nut pancakes and homemade corned beef hash eggs. All really Ono! The word is out that they will be doing a major renovation next year. It may need upgrades, but we hope they keep the classic feel and vibe. Hoping to visit someday when we head to the Big Island again!"
