"We had a night's stop over in Hinton, Alberta and were searching for a place to have dinner. This was highly reviewed on Google so thought we would try it out. I am SO happy we did. We were served by Shella who was fantastic from start to finish. Super friendly, quick and attentive, despite it being so busy. We went for the Ribeye and Sirlon with Shrimp and wow was it great. Perfectly cooked steak, great sear and full of flavour. The fries were fresh and seasoned well, and the onion rings super crispy. The Apple pie was incredible, I wanted to get stuck in so quickly I forgot to take a picture before my first bite. Would highly recommend, if only we were staying longer I would have been back to try out other items on the menu."

"I often drive through Hinton on the way to somewhere else and often stop for lunch. Today I thought I would give Rojo Marron a try because I like Mexican food (the real stuff from Mexico, not Taco Bell or equivalent). Roja Marron was just...a short drive off the highway and it was quite nice visually. However, it cost $19 for a bland burrito and a soft drink. Not that big either for what they charged. The staff weren't very friendly even though I spoke some Spanish, asked where they were from in Mexico, etc. Perhaps my mistake was ordering a burrito, which is more Tex-Mex than Mexican. However, that doesn't excuse how blah it was. I don't like to give bad reviews to family restaurants and perhaps it was just a bad day. I will give it one more chance on a future trip through Hinton."

"Mediocre food with very bad service. The waitress is very rude and acting like she had a government union support her. From the beginning, she was throwing glasses and water bottles on the table. No help for almost anything. She had no clue about who ordered what. At the end, none of us got the soup which is included in our order and we already paid for. Anyway, it's not worth to try."

"We came into Smitties for lunch having driven from Edmonton. The waitress we had was very pleasant and she looked after us very well. The restaurant decor was a bit dated however the food and service was great."

"We had been travelling Canada for three weeks and this was by far our worst dining experience. The staff were young and seemed inexperience as we placed our order. We asked if we could have mashed potatoes instead of fries and they didn't know, looked...at each other then had to ask someone. We received our meal, and once we were home, noticed we didn't get all that was ordered but decided it was a hassle to go back. Also the chicken was not crispy, greasy like it had been sitting there all day and didn't taste at all like the KFC we're used to. For two orders of 4 pieces and a side with a drink came to $27C which was pricey for fast food that wasn't at all good to eat. A total disappointment."
