The Raven is Hexton's only pub but an absolute gem. We've held family events here in the back bar and they've always gone well. There's a lovely beer garden with lots of tables and children's play area with swings etc out the back and plenty of parking in the adjacent car park. The bar area is reasonably large and the choice of real ales is good and they seem well kept. I've only eaten here twice but the food was goo... View all feedback.
What Susan A doesn't like about The Raven:
When our main courses arrived there were problems with both of our meals. Unfortunately we were not given a table check. The food wasn't very nice at all and we didn't eat much of it. when our plates were eventually cleared the member of staff didn't express any concern. A total lack of customer care. We definitely won't return. View all feedback.

We were greeted with a smile and and shown to our table. The restaurant was lovely and clean, as were the glasses. The meals were very tasty and nothing was left on our plates. The staff were very attentive and straight to the table when we wanted another round of drinks. The staff worked well as a team. I have been here several times and would recommend it.
Lovely pub with a great family garden. Food servings substantial and friendly service. Couldn't have done better for what they are. We had the pie of the day which came with golden spuds and salmon salad.
This is the sister pub to the White Horse in Southill. It is located in the lovely village of Hexton. The food again is very good. They have a good variety on the menu, and normally have a good selection of daily specials. They also have a childrens menu and will cater for things not on the menu if asked. The outdoor play area is smaller than the White Horse, and really only caters for slightly younger children. They have benches for parents to sit on and on the patio are have tables. These can be used to have food on, if it is warm enough. They have a decent sized car park, but the entrance is a little bit narrow to get into, especially if a car is coming the other way.
Wow! From a California girl's perspective this gorgeous English restaurant was The perfect English restaurant experience. The ambience was more then I dreamed and so was the food.
