"Lovely feel to this place, good decor and attentive staff. Courses were well presented and tasty. My only niggle was the portion sizes, they were more akin to a 5 course menu than a 3 course. I found myself needing desert as i was still hungry after starter and main."

"We had a well-deserved coffee and cake at Willow Trees Café after a lovely cross county walk. Refreshments were excellent and it was nice sitting outside by the river Lea (there was even a swan on the river with several young cygnets). There is not much parking at (or near) the Café so most people walk from Wheathampstead (along the Lea Valley Walk) or walk cycle from Harpenden along the old railway line (which is also part of the Lea Valley Walk). The café does have a set of cycle racks. It should be noted that the café is only at weekends and bank holiday Monday’s between May Bank Holiday weekend and August Bank Holiday Monday. Contactless payment is now accepted and additional outside seating has recently been added."

"Al Qud's is a real treat. I have come here since the first lockdown, travelling from as far as Stevenage and London just for the pure taste and brilliant food (ma sha Allah). The flavour feels like traditional home cooked Palestinian and Middle Eastern food. Recently, I ordered a full lamb with rice, salad, sides and garnish. Totally within budget. The feedback from friends and family was amazing. They all asked where I purchased the food from and when I told them it was from Luton, they really could understand why I would choose a caterer outside of London and that far away! Ismail, the head chef and owner, really deserves the credit here. Myself being in the catering business would much sooner recommend Al Qud's because they give you great food, taste and a fair price. I wish, and pray, the business succeeds in all their endeavours."

"On holiday from Scotland, we visited Hitchin on a Friday afternoon and went into Fabio 's for some treats. We ordered a range of items cakes, hot drinks and gelato. All was going great! Until we went to pay... 'sorry, we don 't accept Scottish bank notes. We didn 't make this decision the owner did. He doesn 't accept them as we can 't tell if they are real or fake '. We were gobsmacked. Fabio 's Gelato was only place we visited in England that didn 't accept Scottish notes. If you have an issue accepting bank notes from the greatest country of all time as payment, please invest in a counterfeit machine or pen to check the notes your customers are using are real. We could see the girl serving us thought it was ridiculous by the way she looked at us, and rightly so. Who was to say the English note we reluctantly ended up using wasn 't fake? This wasn 't checked for authenticity. Counterfeit machines are relatively inexpensive and would really allow more of your Scottish customers to enjoy your handmade gelato."

"My man and I have booked cc for our high season breakfast in juni this year. we met twice with matte and jeff and they were so beautiful and have all my neurotic bridal e-mails and asked. jeff ran the crew on the day and everyone was so excited to have something else. eating was fantastic and the tailored sauces were amazing. we took our smaller bottles home and had them on several meals the week after. I would recommend cantina to anyone looking for something else and very cool and relaxed. thank you for everything. must come to hitchin for the new menu!"
