"We stumbled upon Southern Eatery when we first got into Holly Springs after a very long travel day while we were in town for the North Mississippi Hill Country Blues Picnic. We were greeted by the owner's Mother, Miss Phoebe and right away I knew we were home. The food could have been terrible and I wouldn't have cared. Miss Phoebe made us feel as if we were family and that she'd known us all our lives. The hospitality we were shown at the restaurant and throughout our trip to Mississippi was amazing. The ppl here were kind, warm beyond welcoming. It shattered all of my preconceived idea of what to expect from this state. I have definitely found my home away from home. We ended up going back to Southern Eatery twice and I ordered the steak salad both times. To say the food was the best I'd ever had would be an understatement. Other than my Grandmother my Mother's food, I'd never experienced food like that. Everything is homemade. What an absolute treat! Until we meet again next year...
