"We arrived at the restaurant shortly before closing but managed to secure a table. With four adults and four teenagers in need of pizza I presumed the pizza quality would suffer and service be staggered at best.WRONG! All pizzas were served together and all piping...hot. The pizzas were superb, delicious beyond expectation and comparable to any artisan pizza we have tried and a lot more for. As the evening grew chilly we we invited inside the restaurant by the hostess just as our pizzas were ready to serve. From my seat I had a clear view of the chef at work. Absolutely stunning pizza making skills. So close to closing time these last few pizzas were made with care, skill and artistry worthy of an entry into a pizza competition. Wish I could have expressed my respect to the chef in more than infant level french with an accompanying cheeky northern wink and thumbs up."

"Yesterday my wife invited me to La Table to celebrate my 71th birthday. We had been delighted last year by a splendid dinner at the the Thai restaurant in Castigno village, and vowed to have another treat at La Table. We love not to be disappointed by restaurants. We are ready to pay the right price for a decent meal, that is a meal which leaves you not, with the unpleasant feeling that you have been cheated upon. Yesterday, we had the experience of a lifetime. By far the best restaurant meal in our entire life. All the expected ingredients were there : the setting (so tasteful, chic and not overdone in any way), the staff hospitality (here something approaching perfection), and professionalism , discretion and total respect of the customer even when we don’t drink wine! The neatness and comfort of the table etc etc And now, what comes into your plate. I chose to start with a drink however. There is no word to describe the quality and refinement of the appetisers that went with it (provided for two when only one apéritif had been ordered). When booking at La Table, you choose to trust experts with the surprise they have prepared for you. No menu , no carte. Only your choice of three, five or seven dishes. What a clever concept, which can only be based on confirmed professionalism and expertise! You want to take no risk. I will not get into the details of what was served to us yesterday. The appropriate vocabulary and adjectives would fail to convey my feelings and would not do justice to the perfection and level achieved by the two chefs. To put it in a nutshell, I would only say here what I asked the waiters to repeat to the cooks : you do deserve your first star in the Michelin ranking. The second should follow in a not too distant future. It is bound to happen. And of course I had the privilege to congratulate one of the two artists in person upon leaving that magic place. One final point, last but not least, should be made : 38€ for the three course meal of a lifetime just sounds totally unreal. And then, good value for money is utter understatement ... if one day you have 38€ to spend a great (the adjective is weak) experience, book at La Table in Castigno village."

"A gorgeous property along the Canal du Midi in Homps. Its tranquil and its aims are lofty but it misses the point because at the end of the day its contrived. Imagine my shock when the food arrives and the waiter refuses to serve us. Imagine my shock when we needed to wait 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared. Imagine my astonishment when the last course was to be paired with a wine and the course arrives and we finished it and then the server arrives with the wine pairing. This restaurant aims to be in the top echelons but unless it improves its service and quality they are not going to last long."
