After failing to find a restaurant with a table for six in the Old Town, we wandered over to the harbor and sat down at Sebastián.
Yeah, it's a tourist trap, but I had a great meal here and I AM NOT ASHAMED. My husband and I wanted some seafood by the harbor, so we inspected the menus

"Nothing short of outstanding we could not have kicked off our holidays in a better way! Pulpo, tuna tartare and monkfish for two were excellent and the Patxaran on the house at the end of the meal sealed the deal. Loved it!"

"AMAZING! INCREDIBLE! We patiently waited for the place to open after its Monday recess and how well we did! The weather was awful, with torrential rain so no wonder there were empty tables outdoors. We had our dog with us too, which was also a distracting factor but still: all of the six different pintxos we chose were mouth-wateringly delicious: the porc, the foie, the mushrooms, the false-sushi…. All would be worth immigrating to the Basque country for. And presented in a way that resembled visual art too. The atmosphere is casual, no-nonsense. Not even the rain and the not-so-comfortable stools could deter us: we returned the following day for lunch to sample some more of the delights. We will be back sometime for more!"

"We visited Alameda for lunch in August and selected the tasting menu with the wine pairing. I don’t like “fishy fish” and once seated the restaurant kindly noted that they had observed my note on the booking and that the chef could amend the menu accordingly. We discussed my likes and dislikes in detail and as a result they only needed to swap one dish, and one dish they kindly pointed out to me that they had changed the sauce. The food was absolutely incredible, and my partner who is very knowledgable with wines thought the pairings were extremely clever. The restaurant was beautiful and the service impeccable. We couldn’t recommended this restaurant enough."

"Site and staff really nice. one of the diners was vegetarian and offered to make grilled vegetables, vegetarian salad (with cheese instead of the foie de la carte), scrambled mushrooms. and they also took a different appetizer instead of the tksangurro croquettes that pulled the rest. we are all very grateful for the effort to adapt and consideration. This has been possible because when we made the reservation we told the restaurant and had additional vegetables. In short, the staff seemed charming. As for the food, it seemed right to us. everything was rich, although some dishes have seemed better. For example, the singlemillo was too much, but the quality was good."
