Absolutely wonderful meal outside of the main drag of Honolulu- everything was delicious and memorable. Try the butterfish and the hamachi collar. Good no frills space for groups upstairs. View all feedback.
What Jialu Wang doesn't like about Izakaya Nonbei:
We had a team dinner here and got overcharged for the tips. In the receipt, I wrote down $55.00 but finally was charged $63.xx. The food is just average in Honolulu, considering that there are much more Japanese restaurants cheaper with better food.Food: 1/5 View all feedback.
All items we ordered were great, top service too. Amazing dinner.
Not the best izakaya I've been to but an okay place overall. Nothing too good, nothing too bad. A little overpriced.
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Servers are always so friendly and food is consistently delicious. Our go to is the prix fix menu which has all of their most popular menu items: miso soup, crab avocado salad, nasu kinako (butter mushrooms eggplant , wafu steak, karei karage (deep fried flounder you can eat the bones! and dessert (get the strawberry dream . Pair that with sake or beer and you're in for a wonderful meal!
They got us in without reservations and the food was excellent!
If you’re looking for a great izakaya look no further. Nonbei has become our “go to” spot for delicious food, cold beers and sake, and great service. Be sure to order one of the fresh sashimi sets to start, then some nigiri sushi followed by anything on the menu. It’s all good and depends what you’re in the mood for. The kakuni, chicken, butterfish, fried flounder, beef tongue, agedashi tofu, chawanmushi, tempura, sautéed mushrooms and eggplant, and gyoza are just some of our favorites. If you have room for dessert, the yuzu sorbet is a must, as is the kinako warabi. Plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant or in the private overflow lot a little up the street. Enjoy!
