"Love this place. Had two shared plates, Brussel sprouts and Tempura, both wonderful. Brussel sprouts were in a spicy sauce (not too spicy) and Tempura was very good. Had two appetizers, the spring rolls which were amazing (orange sauce was out of this world) and Gyoza (pot stickers). Also had grilled mushrooms shared plate, and oh goodness the BBQ flavoring was amazing. Had iced tea and lemonade, both great. Vegan cheesecake wonderful Updated from previous review on 2021-08-11"

"This place will always have a line! I always say I'm going to order ahead, but then I'm driving by and the manapua just call me in. Worth the wait, although you will likely have to wait because of their high volume. The staff are always running around to get orders out quickly."

The aroma of grilled meat, which melts out of its kitchen, is enough to make your mouthwater in anticipation! Service is fast. It takes about 5 10 minutes to get your meal. Let's talk about her legendary BBQ chicken. This dish is the perfect combination of delicate, juicy meat and a beautifully caramelized, tasteful exterior. "Wonderful food and service! Came on Tuesday afternoon and waited for about 10 minutes on a table. We were met with attentive staff and were served excellent food... highly recommend the Crab Benedict and the Banana Pancakes (1 pancake corresponds to 3 normal size pancakes imo . The fried egg on the Benedict was a bit over boiled, but it was not really important because it was so good. Even if the Macnut Latte is available, it is sweet and delicious! Very recommended :"

"Update: 3-4 times. Every time. Lunch Special is such a good deal. Less than $14, get 3 barbecue items (meat, veggie, several to choose from). Rice, soup and salad. Bring your coupon from KauKau magazine (It is in Japanese, but you will find coupon on Gyukaku page with small English translation) for free soft drinks or $1 Kirin beer. Your service was better every time and they give the best Kamaaina discount! Now it's our favorite place. The food was great. Portions are a little small, but I can order 5-6 different items along with rice, soup, etc. Happy Hour is the way to go. Beer is cheap and super cold, making my Hubby happy. It was about shift change, so the service wasn't that big... our server never came back to check if we needed anything. No refilling on water. We will go back because we enjoy the food and the price was reasonable."
