"I wouldn 't consider myself a coffee snob, but I do recognize a good cup of Joe when I have it. I had been to The Curb several times before, but I 'm just getting around to reviewing it now.I always get The George nicknamed the original jammer double espresso, 5 grams of chocolate, 4oz milk, shaken and served in an 8oz jam jar. It comes iced only. Good George, it 's so good. And strong! It 's only $4.25, but wait... there 's more! You save 50 cents if you have your drink there (instead of takeout). On my most recent visit, I also got a slice of their Poi Banana bread. It was so dense and delicious! I 'm not sure if they make it in house or if they have a special outside baker, but it 's one of the best banana breads I 've ever had!The Curb seems to have a lot of regular customers, as many were greeted by name or the baristas seemed to know their drink. The inside gives off cool, casual vibes with lounge type of music playing in the background. They also have a unique collection of wine bottles and chocolate bars that they offer for sale. There are quite a few tables and you 'll often find students here with their laptops studying for their next exam, no doubt. The baristas are friendly and cool. This is like the cool coffee cafe to hang with friends. Just a note, the AC is often on blast so if you tend to get cold easily, bring a layer!"

"We hit this place up on our way to the airport on our last day. I just thought it was old diner but it's a rather impressive place with a unique story. This is from their website.... Liliha Bakery is a full service bakery and diner that has built a loyal following since opening its doors in 1950. Since day one, Liliha's commitment to baking fresh cakes and pastries with local ingredients has been of utmost priority. Experienced bakers who have been with the bakery for up to 40 years, honor the same time baking methods making sure that all baked goods are made from scratch. Liliha Bakery began expansion in 2014, opening its second location on Nimitz Highway, and it's the third and fourth location in the Ala Moana Shopping Center Macy's (March 2019) and the International Market Place in Waikiki (November 2021). Aside from iconic pastries and local dishes, celebration is a big part of the Liliha mission. Custom designed cakes are offered at the original Kuakini location, using airbrushing techniques for cake decorations. At Liliha Bakery, the smell of fresh chantilly permeates throughout the store, counter seating provides customers with a behind the scenes look at the creation of famous local dishes, and customers are offered a selection of 150 baked goods. Some things never change... and at Liliha Bakery, that's a good thing! After dropping our daughter off at school in Manoa, we were looking for a hearty breakfast and this place hit the spot. I had the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast, Portuguese sausage and a couple of eggs. My wife had the corned beef hash and eggs. The food was simply perfect. The place was packed but we were in and out in 30 minutes. Great stuff."

"A hidden gem! I had time to kill while the wife had oral surgery so I went to Vons for lunch. The woman working the counter was very friendly and even the people picking up ‘to go’ orders were telling what their favorite menu items where. I got the spicy sauce which was sweet and spicy (but not too hot). This place is NOT setup for sit-down diners but had a couple of chairs at a ledge counter. I will be back!"

"Location near Ala Moana shopping mall. staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning to the end of our meal. The food was delicious as always. We arrived in time for happy hour, so it was nice to get a few dollars in savings. The drawback was that it didn't come with the dipping sauces. Luckily, we could add them to our meal for $1 each sauce. we had 7 people, and we fit nicely in two 4 seaters that were right next to each other. I'm not a fan of the shared parking lot behind the restaurant with the limited number of tight spaces available. Would ahve given 5 stars bit the Aiea location has a mich better searing and view due to location. This is a good location to the mall, and the food and service are solid. we will be back again."
