It is a fantastic place full of atmosphere with a brilliant menu that changes on the day. excellent food, service and wine. one of the top places in holland. and it feels so secret.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the VVV for a wedding anniversary dinner. We certainly weren't disappointed. Unfortunately, there was no printed menu simply the choice of dishes being announced which makes it somewhat difficult to estimate the cost. We were served by the owner who was most attentive and even adressed my wife in French. The decor is rather higgledy-piggledy with bottles being stored everywhere. The cooking was excellent and fell into the category of nouvelle cuisine The curried scallops were unusual and the Black Angus fillet steak was superb. It appears from the stickers that the restaurant has been featured in the Michelin Guide over a number of years. We wouldn't hesitate to return there if we were to visit Alkmaar again.

I'm never happy to give a bad review, but I was really disappointed with this restaurant especially after all the great reviews, I just don't get it. eating was really mediocre, but only ok, certainly not worth the money. with a little more up the shrimp starter would have been much better, a more beautiful dressing, more change in salat! it was said that the shrimp was well forgotten, it was only brewed huh. the risotto was overcooked and watery. I didn't dare to have a whisper. the waiter was very nice, the ambiente was good, but that's just not enough, at the end we go out to eat well. I'm sorry, guys, you have to do more effort.
