"This cafe was our secret breakfast go-to until it recently changed hands. They no longer serve breakfast or craft espresso drinks. It is now lunch and dinner only. They offer burgers and smoked meats. Though there’s a small propane device rolling lively smoky aroma, it...was not indicative of good food. I tried their brisket. There was not a single slice that I could bite through. It was not cooked as a slow-smoked brisket must be in order to get that tough cut tenderized enough to become edible. We will not be back."

"Great place to grab a beverage and get some work done. Outlets for charging devices built into the bench seats, spacious area, long table with seating for 8-10 lots of small tables for single or couple seating. Music isn't too loud to have a conversation. 3 inclusive accessible washrooms. Drive-Thru and some outdoor seating."

"Before my father passed away in 2017, my mother and father used to love the Home Restaurant. They 'd go about once a month as they drove through Hope to visit family. Two days ago, my mother and her friend (visiting from Iceland stopped in for...lunch on their way to Vancouver. The restaurant wasn 't overly busy, but mother asked if they could sit at one of the booths by the window, once one opened up. The server said that she could seat them, then move them to a booth. They were seated at a table in a dark corner by the bathroom. Before they could even order, two booths opened up by the window. The server came over to take their order. My mother politely said that they were told that they could be moved to a booth by the window. The server snapped that No, once you 're seated, you can 't change tables. My mother asked if she was joking, but the server said she wasn 't. My mother asked for the manager. The server (who 's name was Sharon or Sheryl? said that she was, in fact, the manager and that if they didn 't like where they were sitting, they could just leave. My mother said You mean either we sit here or you 're going to kick us out? The manager said Yes, you can leave. My mother and her friend got up to leave. As they were walking out, my mother mentioned to her friend that she 's never been treated so rudely. The manager just looked at her and condescendingly said Have a nice day, then gave the biggest fake smile to my mother. My mother is a very nice sweet 79 year old. She worked as a server at several fine dining restaurants for over 40 years. She is just shocked that she was treated this way. No apology, no explanation, no reason. She says this will be the last time she ever visits the Home Restaurant. No one should be kicked out of the restaurant just for politely asking to change tables."

"I had the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich- it was AMAZING. So soft and buttery, I was so happy and satisfied aha.I also made my own drink with bubble tea and espresso- adjusted the sweetness and it was really good. The pearls are a great texture!"

"My boyfriend, another friend and I went to Subway to grab a quick eat on the road. We were horribly treated by the two staff women working here. The three of us were the only customers here, no one else, and they seemed to be...in a hurry. They weren 't letting us decide what we wanted to eat. Then, when I was going to pay, the next customer (my friend) was still deciding what to have, but the cashier was soooo mean in every possible way. We asked how much it was to make it a combo and what it included. She had no patience and immediatly charged us for a combo with chips, and when we told her we wanted cookies, not chips, she lost it and started yelling at us. She raised her voice and very angry, and very loud, she yelled quickly decide now . I ended up being very scared and paid for whatever she wanted to sell to me. Took my stuff and went ver scared to my table where I read the ticket and realised she had charged us for things we didn 't want. Anyway, we sat down and were eating quietly, still scared of these two ladies when another customer comes in and the first lady starts talking horribly about Mexicans with this customer. We felt very unwated, uninvited and hated at this place. For small, trivia,l but racist, encounters ike this people kill and start wars. I recommend the owner of this branch looks twice before hiring someone."
