What User doesn't like about Pete's Fine Meats Deli:
first time shopping here, pays $40 for black laces w/ strong wild boar delicate smell. came in to get some bone-in-pork muscles. guy on the theke asked how I wanted it wrapped, I said, "what is always the easiest thing, I cook it when I come home." So I thought it was weird when he vacuumed the discs. I cooked the bargains this day. I don't think they sold me rotten pork (no odour and it tasted good), but I think the... View all feedback.
This restaurant serves delicious buffalo burgers that are lean and tasty. They also offer a variety of fresh meats, jerky, and seasonings.
The quality of the meat at Pete's has declined. The prime rib roast I ordered for Christmas Eve dinner was just okay.
I did some research before Christmas last year and came across several reviews for Pete's Fine Meats. I called in advance to make sure they had a good loin tip roast or a quality piece of meat for beef cutlets. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was disappointed with both the service and the selection of meat. Despite not being very busy, it took 30 to 40 minutes for someone to assist me. I eventually spoke with the head butcher, who seemed confused when I asked for 7 to 8 lbs. of lean beef cutlets for making chicken fried steak. He didn't have the cuts I wanted and instead offered to cut them from a beef tenderloin, promising no gristle or fat in the meat. I agreed to this, although I was disappointed in the higher price I was charged compared to the listed price for beef cutlets. Strike one. When I got home and started cooking the cutlets, I discovered they did, in fact, contain gristle and fat. Strike two. I was very disappointed to pay a premium price for a specialty cut of meat and still end up with undesirable results. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Pete's Fine Meats.
I decided to try this restaurant for a quick lunch. I had the best BBQ brisket sandwich I've ever tasted. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
I went to Pete's Fine Meats to purchase 6 lbs of beef short ribs, but was told they only sold them in larger quantities. Despite calling ahead and being assured they had plenty of beef short ribs, I ended up having to buy 9+ pounds, which was more than I needed. When I expressed my disappointment to the owner, Pete, I was met with indifference and reminded of the establishment's long history. It was clear that Pete had lost touch with the customer service aspect of his business and was more concerned with his own success. In the end, I found what I was looking for elsewhere and will not be returning to Pete's Fine Meats. I may be just a small customer to Pete, but I will always remember my experience at his restaurant.
