The atmosphere in Velvet Taco in Houston was definitely strange, but beautiful. It seemed half a vibe and half another, but the food was SOO good! It was very different from the authentic Mexican food I'm used to, but a good other! Not Tex-Mex, in my opinion. It was like a cook level creative spin on Mexican cuisine and I absolutely loved it. What Chip D doesn't like about Velvet Taco:
Not a great experience. The food order got lost in process and had to be started over after waiting for ten minutes. The shredded beef tacos were ok with flavor, but were minimally stuffed with meat (maybe an ounce each) and mostly grilled onions. The prices were high for what you get. View all feedback.
