"Surprised that the majority of reviews on TA for this little gem are about the restaurant with almost no one mentioning the bike shop. We wanted to find an easy way to get out on the Rum Runner's trail which we knew was an off road multi-use trail near Halifax. When we searched bike shops near the trail we found Dan Flinn's Train Station Bike and Bean in nearby Tantallon. This bike shop is literally on the trail. We were able to rent fairly nice trail bikes complete with helmets, and water bottle cages. Dan even helped us map out a sweet little ride to a beach area where we enjoyed a little break before pedaling back. About a 24 mile ride all told. One could go further if desired. The ride was beautiful, the terrain fairly level and we were along the water for a good part of it.At the end of the ride we enjoyed a snack at the cafe.Highly recommend if biking in Nova Scotia is something you want to do and do easily without fighting cars and city roads"

"We stopped in at the bakery/deli on Canada Day and were not disappointed. The poutine was to die for and our boys gobbled up the grilled cheese sandwiches. We also indulged in Canada Day cupcakes and took home a few treats (particularly the key lime pie) and everything was just eye-roll delicious. It was a drizzly day and we took advantage of the lack of droves of people and sat under the outdoor tented area to eat our lunch, while our boys "performed" on the wooden "stage" and took in the gorgeous surrounding scenery. Great service, great food, great location."
