What Kimberley F doesn't like about The Dog Inn:
Went for Sunday Dinner. The only thing edible on the plate was the Roast Beef. The Home Made Yorkshire Pudding was Soft burnt and tasted strange. The roast potatoes were so hard I could not cut into them. The Gravy was cold. For pudding I ordered the crème brûlée when it came it was just a sloppy custard not Crème brûlée at all. Extremely disappointed at the standard of the food served View all feedback.
What an absolutely fabulous find!!! Had a superb meal for a very reasonable price. The food was served hot and portions were good. I can recommend the salt n pepper chicken pieces, they were really tasty. Four of us ate and we all agreed that the food was excellent. The bar is well stocked with a good choice. We weren’t rushed into ordering which was just as well as the menu has plenty choice and deciding is difficult!! We had a leisurely meal, staff checked we were ok but weren’t pushy at all. The bill was presented promptly when requested. Think we will be visiting again. Really impressed.
We chanced on a visit for Sunday lunch today and were highly delighted with the food, the service and the overall ambiance. A total gem of a place. Lloyd and Lois were our servers and nothing was too much trouble for them. We felt so welcome. The quality of the food was delicious and surpassed expectations. The garlic mushrooms with truffle and Lancashire cheese were an absolute triumph. The roast beef was sublime and the seasonal vegetables were carefully chosen and delicious. Two courses at £19.95 was excellent value for money and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Truly excellent in every way.
I just burned my mouth on the most delicious cheese pie I've ever had because I couldn't wait for it to cool down! Amazing! This restaurant is beautifully located in a charming village near Blackburn. Thank you Lloyd and the team for a wonderful dining experience!
We dropped in over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! The atmosphere was wonderful, the bartender was friendly and welcoming. Despite being busy, the wait times were short and our food arrived quickly, which was impressive considering it was made fresh. I ordered the beef and it was cooked perfectly, showing that the chef takes pride in their work. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were very reasonable. We sat in the dining area and enjoyed the beautiful countryside views. We will definitely return soon, as I have my eye on the fish and chips that I saw another table order and it looked delicious! Thank you, The Dog Inn, we will be back soon.
Steak pudding as well as the fish n chips were fantastic as well as very reasonable prices. Wait staff pleasing. View 10+
