Really great little homestay. We rented both rooms. The normal room and mud hut. No ac, but fans made the rooms plenty cool enough (coming from someone that usually always needs ac). Jack and Michelle were great hosts. Welcoming and very chatty. Drinks and coffee also good and at reasonable prices. Would recommend coming to visit. What Giuseppe Guermandi doesn't like about Baan Farang Homestay Phra Saeng:
There is a beautiful garden and a splendid circular mud hut with a palm-leaves roof. And that's all. The hut-room is very nice, 500 baht with coffee for breakfast. During the night you might experience a lack of fresh air, but that's not a problem. For the food you have to drive to the next village, where the choice is very limited anyway. One of the nicest homestay I have ever been. Michelle and her husband Jack are very welcoming and sleeping in a mud hut is an experience! : Perfect location for Thailand Bikers crossing from coast to coast :
Such a wonderful place to stay, particularly after a day cycling under the hot sun. The bungalow had everything I needed, nothing more nothing less, and was so tastefully decorated. Should you choose to decide to stay here you are sure to receive a royal welcome. Thank you Jack and Michelle for taking me in! By the way I made it to Surat Thani by bicycle no train needed ; Hope to be back again one day. Take care, Mel
This hotel offers clean rooms and very pleasant service. good atmosphere
The joint venture of ‘Baan Farang Homestay’ and ‘Mind your language of Koh Samui’ was an amazing experience. 4 hours Thai intensive course every morning for one week with teacher Jom. Every afternoon, our Thai host, Jack, made sure we were entertained and learned things about Thai rural life. He showed us around the village, the market, a fish farm and the first ever road construction machine of the region. He explained about all the trees and plants in the garden of Baan Farang, how rubber is produced and how they make their own coal for their fireplaces. Michelle, Jack’s wife who is Scottish, made sure everything was tidy and well organised. We never lacked anything. There was plenty of savoury Thai food during the day and delicious drinks in the bar after sunset. My room was the Mud Hut and I loved it. The relaxing atmosphere of Baan Farang made even the classroom a unique experience. There is only room for a few students and thus learning becomes very effective and thanks to Jom still is fun. Should you consider taking an intensive Thai course and still want to have a holiday feeling I highly recommend Baan Farang Homestay Mind your language. This co-operation is the best value for your money. Check it out!
