"We came to this fantastic restaurant unplanned and were very lucky to get the last seat for two at half past five without a reservation. It was poetry, from the warm service to the fabulous cuisine. We haven't eaten such deliciously prepared fish in a long time. The taste combination was very successful. Our visit was an absolute highlight. Highly recommended! "Jeroen and Janine run this establishment of the highest quality. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and professional. Their execution on food is masterfully done and you can always expect a nice surprise twist to the flavor of a dish vs what you might expect just based on description. This flare is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. It doesn 't end there however. The dishes are always a sight to behold (see photos) and I always look forward in particular to the amuses and dessert. The wine selection is solid and paired well with the menu too. Environmentally the place is quiet and has an intimate feeling, which I far prefer to the 'dining hall ' scale that some other restaurants aim for. Lastly, make sure you get the cheese."

"What a great cafe to visit whilst in Alkmaar! Such a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food and drink was truly excellent. Really friendly and welcoming staff, all of whom spoke excellent English. They cafe is very accommodating and accepting of families however this is no way affects the overall chilled vibe De Koffiemolen offers in its beautiful surroundings. A must visit whilst in Alkmaar, we will definitely be back, thank you."
