Our four-headed family stayed short bite. As always, the owner was beautiful and welcoming. Our meals were delicious. My five-year-old son swallowed his Falafel sandwich and my daughter loved tea service. We later brought some Baklava home. It is one of my faves, not too sweet and with crushed pistachios. Absolutely delicious. They grill the lamb fresh and the hummus is amazing. It was also way less crowded than the surrounding places. A hidden ish gem
Assalamualaikum. By far the best service, food, and drinks. We were greeted by the owner with hot tea and a warm inviting environment. I find it hard to believe anyone would ever have a bad thing to say about this place. Very intimate and welcoming. This is NOT fast food and you will never experience anything so authentic and tasty. Laid back, no rush, and so wonderful. There were four of us and EVERYTHING was perfect. Later in the lunch the owner gave us complimentary dessert and the Turkish coffee was to die for. We spent a very lengthy time in the restaurant and had the greatest time and service. The owner was great, his family was great, and we will be back many more times to come. If you have not been here.....go! Thank you Sahara and I hope you and your family remain blessed and with an over abundance of gifts and joy from Allah.. The Smith Party
PLEASE ignore the three 1-2 star reviews! This place is an absolute gem. My husband and I have been coming here for years and have always been greeted with a warm and friendly 'hello '. The food is amazing, always hot and fresh. The best tasting gyro plate I 've had in Indy by far! Their shawarma is delicious as well. You really can 't go wrong with any of their menu items. We will continue to support this small family owned business!
Lived in Broad Ripple for 10 years but never tried Sahara until a week ago (actually thought it was a chain restaurant so I avoided). It is actually family owned.... I've been twice in the last week and is quickly becoming my go to restaurant. Service is great. Super friendly. Food is very good and price is extremely reasonable. Today, we ordered the chicken shwarma and lamb gyro meals which came to $21. Both were excellent. Only issue I've had is the fries being a little undercooked which was corrected on the second visit. Again, I would highly recommend checking this place out.
I tried Sahara for the first time today and it was amazing! The Greek Salad and Mensef are both delicious and packed with flavor. This is a hidden gem in Broadripple that I will be revisiting soon!
