Loved this place! It's been opened for about a year and I'm just now discovering it. The games on each table were so cool and the decor was really unique. Had fun playing dominoes while waiting for food, but quickly pushed those bones aside when the grub arrived. Ordered a breakfast bowl and it was delicious! Also tried the chicken wings and fries and those were great too. We got surprised with some complimentary bis... View all feedback.
What Sara A doesn't like about Comfort La:
Absolutely awful! The mac and cheese was rubbery and tasted like spoiled milk, while the yams were terrible. The black, mushy beans overpowered the spoonful of rice. The chicken was bland and barely decent. Thank goodness for the sweet and sour sauce, or I wouldn't have been able to stomach the few bites I managed to choke down. This place is a far cry from the downtown location. I paid $79 for 30 pieces of chicken a... View all feedback.
Omg that's the worst food ever! If I could give zero stars, I would definitely. we had sent the meal over shrauchnabe to us. they said they had not what was necessary to make chicken and wad, the greens was sweet and salty, the sweets yams tasted like only yams, the mac n cheese was dry, it was spiced makkaroni with cheese, the cornbrot was so dry and tasted old, the hen tasted like it in cajunrès. my mother sister and I immediately tried to raise everything and repair it because we couldn't eat anything and my mother spent 169,56 on this meal and we had to get our pots out and a meal we paid 169,56 for! as they were literally I had to chop and season to the green and add a smokey truthahnhals and we couldn't get rid of the meal! we'll never eat here again.
Where do I start? I love so much. my friend and I stopped by because she never had it, so I suggested comfort. I think I was just a few times in the Inglewood language, but jeremia is such a good worker and really cares about the quality of customer service and satisfaction and he has the best, brightest attitude. eating is always fresh with love and carefree. if you weren't in comfort, do you live? lol jk but you have to try. it is amazingly delicious and they will always have the best customer experience. I always get the dinner box with mac and yams and add greens and the hot sauce? shoooot. I put everything on my head! Look at this if you don't!
So tonight I went with my mom to enjoy some food for my birthday. now, we stopped at a Jamaican eating place (not called names), but we went there originally because of the Yelp reviews. but unfortunately, if we there (2 hours before closing) they told us that they have no more eating (wtf!? seriously) then we went to another place that had excellent yelp reviews, but when we got there they were closed when according to online Google and yelp said they were open. So we tried a last point because why not, the third time the charm. When we came there, we were nervous about all the drive we had to do in the city, just to get there, but you were eating amazing! I'm a cook, so I'm very critical of eating, not picky, but critical. I will eat everything and eat it again if there is no other food, but for me something to eat and actually want back, that speaks volume. So I would recommend this place to anyone who loves soul food. eating is very fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked for perfection. since it was allegedly a seafood place, I saw the whole menu for some koolaid, but they had none however, they had these amazing refreshing homemade drinks that were excellent.
Our food was literally delivered 10 minutes precious to write this review. they were not edible after mine. he almost spit them out and complained about a strong bitter chemical taste. he didn't even let us take care. green had too much edgy and sugar, but edible. the wings were moderately boiled and seasoned. the maisbrot had a good taste, but the consistency was dense and dry. I was so disappointed about what I had eaten so far that I wrote this review before I even had a chance to try the mac and the cheese. I need to update that later. in the round we was wasting $75 for an dinner for three. I'm always on the look for local black owners company to patronize and it's very rare that I post negative reviews. I really wish there was something positive that I could say to compensate for this review, but unfortunately I can't. I hope that was just a bad night. update: finally added to the mac and cheese. I feel like mac and cheese is very personal and individual. I like my made with a creamy gooey bechamel cheese sauce, with sharp cheddar and tanned. that was not that. I could see how someone likes it when this is the style of mac and if it is used to it. for me it was enjoyable, but not particularly pleasant.
I was invited to this place by a friend who said that the food slap. They have a self ordering system where you can sign up to reap rewards. There is an older man who had great service ensuring everyone everyone ordered. However, a kid that worked there was rude, a diva and snappy towards all customers where my friend just wanted to tell him off. He was old enough to know better esp since this is a black owned small business. He was just all around rude... The food wasn 't that good. I ordered the dinner with bone in wings, greens, yams and Mac cheese. Like everyone else said in their reviews, the cornbread was hard and nasty. The max cheese was hard and nasty. It wasn 't soft and cheesy. None of it hit like a good old thanksgiving dinner side. The only thing that was good was the sauce that you have to pay an extra $2 for and it comes in a very small container. The chicken was decent. Some say there 's was dry inside, mine wasn 't. It was pretty fresh. But it was tasteless. The sprinkle of that sweet seasoning they put on after was good. I 'd buy that sauce and seasoning from them though.
