Tucked away inside th Cheeca Lodge Spa, Nikai is easily one of the best sushi bars this reviewer has ever been to. Seating is on an upper level that faces the resort beach. The tables are simply decorated with a small lamp and live bonsai trees. The live music is loud enough to enjoy, and still have normal conversations. The food truly is the star. This restaurant is located inside the cheeca lodge, a lovely resort in ISLAMORADA. The restaurant has a great terrace. The service was very good. We had the tiger roll, and the 6 piece nigiri. Honestly, the fish was incredibly fresh, but it was hard to enjoy since the rice was so hard and old tasting. : it was a little disappointing to pay $22 for a roll of sushi and have hard sushi rice.
