Sunday roast al fresco makes a change. Could have done with the meal (chicken) being hotter as we were outside but the taste and quantity made up for it. Had booked the table previously but it wasn't that busy, despite it being sunny but with...a cool breeze. A wind barrier would have helped and plates and food served much hotter. Staff are very attentive which wasn't a surprise.... View all feedback.

the winer gardens was just half the point of our cliff hike on this day, so we stopped there for coffee, hot chocolate and a sweet snack. Drinks and sweets were in order, but we were left with quite sad impression over the place: empty, sleepy atmosphere,... decorate as from the seventies. Maybe it was due to the season and weather (we were there on the windy day with the midst of oktober), but the worn equipment and... View all feedback.
Nice spot, lovely staff but!! Building in need of updating, and the food is of very low quality, and overpriced, also waited a long time and then part of the order we placed was not ordered by the staff member taking orders! This is a historic venue but sadly it was probably at its best in 1965
Delicious cake and friendly staff. The carrot cake and chocolate brownie were lovely and reasonably priced. Lovely view of the beach. Friendly service.
A building with a lot of history and the subject of a lot of effort to preserve and improve it. Large and largely unseen dance hall/stage behind the cafe where the very young David Bowie performed. Should make more of its history. We had late lunches and afternoon teas/snacks between the five of us. Superb sea views and seats outside.
Lovely location, overlooking the sea. Not a very big venue. Effective and efficient service. Menu limited but adequate
Ventnor was a pleasant surprise during our walk from Godshill. We were just looking for a coffee on a quiet Sunday morning in September, but there weren't many options in town. Luckily, we stumbled upon The Winter Gardens and we were glad we did! While some may say the place looks a bit old-fashioned and worn, the terrace overlooking the sea on a sunny day is truly beautiful. Although the seating outside was too hard for my companion, the staff treated her like royalty and made her comfortable inside. The cream tea for two was a great deal at £9, and there were other delicious cake options available as well. We spent the rest of our holiday recommending The Winter Gardens to anyone visiting Ventnor. The staff were wonderful, and if the rest of the food is as good and reasonably priced as our cream tea, then this is definitely a place to check out, with or without a dog.
