"I come in here regularly and I am always extremely impressed not just by the quality of the food and the value for money (and the size of the portions but also by what a great character the owner is. The cafe is a...real centre for the community and the owner always takes the time to get to know people and make sure they are properly looked after; I have seen him showing some real care to some of his elderly/vulnerable customers great to see in what can be quite a fast-moving city!"

"Lovely restaurant in the Main Street in Cockermouth. The owner and his wife as well as their service are friend and helpful. The food was very good! Having just been in Turkey 6 months ago, I must say the food in this restaurant was better than in Turkey. We ordered a few starters and mains and everything was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites were: sigara boregi (filo pastry rolls filled with feta), Ali nazik kebab (lamb kebabs on a bed of aubergine and pepper yogurt). For dessert, the Antem Katmer is one of the best desserts I’ve tried! Will definitely be back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"A wonderful dog-friendly pub, full of charm and friendly staff. genuine ale is served with a large selection of options and Sunday evening dinner was to die with a fab veggie option available that was delicious and plentiful. "Had lunch here with friends. What a great pub run by a nice couple with such friendly staff who welcomed us and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and homemade. With four real ales to choose from what's not to like? Highly recommended and we will definitely be back."
