"This is my favourite restaurant in Iwaki! It's run by one woman and she has one daily lunch set that changes each day as well as a collection of hot and cold drinks and a chiffon cake (rotating tea flavours). Usually the set includes: rice, miso soup, pickles, two seasonal side dishes, a fresh salad, and some sort of fried plant-based protein (usually wheat gluten or soy meat). She offers seconds on the rice if you're still hungry, but it's a fairly filling meal. I recommend making a reservation as she's often full, especially on weekends. This is also one of the most low-impact places I've come across in Japan. She even has washable (individual) hand towels instead of paper towels. Cannot recommend highly enough."

"Ame cafe has some great coffee and ice cream! The owner and workers are very friendly. I got coffee over ice cream which was super good. My son got an ice cream cone and husband got a pudding with ice cream on top."
