What User doesn't like about Kim's Korean Bbq:
me and my friend came here to eat and really sad to say this the food wasn't as good as we thought it was and the way our waiters were not happy when they served us the meal finished we charged they charged 20% for something I need to explain but they really don't know how to explain and their owner is very careless and doesn't care about us and she told the staff to delete that bill and print out another one we have... Korean BBQ restraunt where the food tastes like an excellent home cooked meal! We ordered the bulgogi, yukgaejang spicy soup, Dol sot Bibimbap, calamari, and dumplings. Glad to have decent Korean BBQ. Beware the staff here are super nice, and honest when assisting with menu selection. I would highly recommend eating here if you want to try something different in Jax. A little on the pricey side; nevertheless, would still recommend.
I hadn't had Korean food in a while, so I was thankful that my partner found a good restaurant in Jacksonville. I absolutely loved the food! One of my favorite things about Korean restaurants is trying out different dishes. The only downside was that we could only get a free refill for three dishes. I wish we could have gotten more. The restaurant was spacious and the service was great. Our server was friendly and helpful. I wish they had something special for dessert or for birthdays. Despite that, I had a wonderful time with my partner.
My partner and I went to lunch and ordered Dubu Yachae Bokum Bokkeumbap at this restaurant. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, and the server was very friendly. However, I was a bit disappointed with the sides that came with the meal. The atmosphere was great, but I was sad to see that they only had BBQ options for beef. Overall, if you're looking for a Korean restaurant in Jacksonville, this is the place to go. I highly recommend checking it out.
I believe this restaurant is the best in the Jacksonville and St. Augustine area. It is not a buffet like Gen or Manna or other larger Korean restaurants, but more of a family-style neighborhood spot. The food was delicious, but the variety and quantity of side dishes were lacking, with only vegetables and an additional fee for lettuce. The sauce provided was sesame oil and salt, rather than the typical soy sauce. The service was good, although the prices were on the higher side. However, given the difficulty of finding a good restaurant in this area, it is worth it. The quality of your meal may also depend on what you order. We particularly enjoyed the grilled beef and pork belly, as the grill was fantastic and easy to use. The ambiance was pleasant, with the option for a grilling table or a regular table. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, and overall, we had a pleasant dining experience.
Place seems kid friendly, many colored drawing were hung up. Came in for lunch and the dish we wanted to order was unavailable. Ended up ordering the Tangsuyuk and Dduk Mandi Guk. The Tangsuyuk was not palatable. The onions in the dish were still raw, the pineapple is canned, and the pork was very tough and chewy. The rice also came in a chipped bowl with a few sharp ends. Not safe or sanitary to eat from. The Dduk Mandu Guk was disappointing. The soup was flavorless and for $16 (more expensive than the Mandu appetizer option) there were only 3 small pieces of dumplings that did not taste like beef and did not resemble the picture at all. The dish was mostly water. The banchan was alright, but not enough to make up for the experience. The waiter never once came to ask how the food was or to refill our drinks. Sadly, it seems like the food and service has lost its Seoul.
