They also have soft-serve ice cream, coffees and snacks. The owner is super friendly and will give you prompt service with a smile. There's a reason I detour through here.
This small café bar and gift/souvenir shop is located in the Railway Station at Jasper. Buses and coaches visiting Jasper also arrive and depart from an adjacent parking area. Therefore this small counter service cafe is useful for travellers to/from Jasper. It provides a range of snacks and drinks. We purchased some fresh sandwiches that are made on the premises and some soft drinks. There are a small number of tables inside and further tables outside near the railway platform. The sandwiches were very good, if slightly expensive, and provided an alternative to a full meal. A 3.5 "Good" rating would be more appropriate if available on TripAdvisor.
We were waiting at Jasper Station Lounge due to a one-hour delay of our train "The Skeena" to Prince George. Despite the free coffee and cookies provided by VIA Rail, we found ourselves feeling hungry. Luckily, we discovered a charming cafe and gift shop in the annex of the station. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich along with a latte with cream, although it took some time to prepare. However, when the food arrived, the sandwich was hot and delicious, and the coffee was exceptional. I was impressed with the freshly prepared offerings. The cafe also had seating near the platform, but we opted to enjoy our brunch in the lounge next to our luggage. The gift shop displayed various items such as picture cards, coins, keychains, and bookmarks that tempted us to make a purchase. Overall, we had a satisfying experience at this cafe.
Bakaro is a hidden gem in Jasper that is worth discovering. Instead of waiting in line at Tim's or Scoops and Loops, head to Bakaro for some refreshing drinks. Their avocado bubble tea is my new favorite. They also offer soft ice cream, coffee, and snacks. The owner is incredibly friendly and provides fast service with a smile. It's no wonder why I keep coming back to this place.
This quaint café, bar, and gift shop is located at Jasper Train Station, making it convenient for travelers arriving or departing by bus. They offer a variety of snacks and drinks, including delicious fresh sandwiches and soft drinks. While slightly pricey, the sandwiches were tasty and provided a lighter meal option. There are a few tables inside and outdoor seating on the railway platform. It would be beneficial for the café to have a 3.5-star rating on TripAdvisor for its quality offerings.
