"On my last day in Anchorage, I looked at several restaurants downtown, and chose this one boy am I glad I did! I got the Alaska Breakfast eggs, hotcakes and reindeer sausage. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the hotcakes were probably the fluffiest I've ever had. Definitely the best breakfast/brunch I've had in YEARS. They also have ice cream and I couldn't resist; I got Alaska Blueberry, which was wonderful. Good prices, and excellent food. Wish I'd found this place earlier on my trip!"

"Not only is the food here insanely good, but you get service with a smile. Luis has a winning attitude to go right along with his amazing food. The dogs are incredible. The garlic fries are to die for. The house made chipotle sauce is bar none. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would."

"My 1 star review comes with a very shameful story. Up until this incident, this restaurant was one of my favorite sushi restaurants in town. My family went out to dinner at this restaurant several months ago. Since there were 4 of us, we ordered 5 rolls to share. Our server was a young, sweet guy who was obviously new. When asked questions about certain items on the menu, he clearly didn 't know any details (which is fine because he was in training). We later came to find out it was only his second week. One of our rolls didn 't come for an hour after we 'd finished eating. After waiting, we inquired about its whereabouts and he apologetically said that he 'd forgotten to put it in the computer. Again, this was no problem. However, at the end of our meal, we were charged for the roll. In all of our countless experiences dining out, we had always had the amount of forgotten items deducted from the bill. After seeing that we were still being charged even after an hour wait, we asked the new server about taking the roll off of the check. He said he couldn 't do this. When we asked to speak to a manager, he sheepishly went and asked our question to a lady at the front of the restaurant. After waiting some more, the lady came to our table with our server trailing behind her and explained once again that the roll could not be taken off of the bill. When we explained our dissatisfaction to her, she launched into a tirade that went something like this: Well, seeing that this was your waiter 's mistake, if you really don 't want to be charged for this roll, I will have to take it out of his paycheck. He will have to pay for your roll because this was his fault. Dumfounded and with our mouths on the floor, we of course objected. In answer to this bullying, we vowed to write a poor review online. This young server, second week on the job, was made to stand in front of us and be publicly humiliated completely due to the poor training on the part of the management. Oh, and we later found out that management had just changed a week prior. In conclusion Prior Management: 5 stars, Current Management 0 stars. Because I don 't believe in supporting this kind of treatment, I will never be back to Sushi Yako again. *By the way, we made a point to speak privately with our server before we left to give him a pat on the back, let him know all was well, and slip a tip into his pocket so he wouldn 't have to give it up."
