What Josephine Rice doesn't like about Balay Tulahan Grill And Resto:
I ordered bulalo, no bone marrow, just cubed lean meat, both meat and broth taste flavorless. The shrimp gambas straight up mushy and super sweet. Their shakes are ok. The staff are friendly but the service is poor. Gave us two wrong drinks. Maybe the inasal is better here than what we ordered. We are in ac room but it was still hot. We had a family lunch, my sister and I shared the Cansi and my husband had the Chix inasal. When the server brought the bowl of kansi to set on our table , my sister moved/dragged her chair backwards a little bit to give way to the server and lo and behold those chairs are not sturdy. My sister dropped backwards hitting her arm on my other sister bringing them both on the floor. First of all, You should provide a better and sturdier chairs. Not a cheap and light plastic chairs. Customers can break their bone. You are lucky this is Philippines, should this happened in USA you can be sued. With that situation happened , a manager never even gave us a formal apology or give us any consolation for that untoward incident . I have to stand up and get a black chair outside the air conditioned room for a sturdier support. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!

This place was a bit shocking to me. To cut the chaste, a good-for-3-or-4- persons' dish, but only one person can eat. What? ...and they will serve it after one hour. How about the quality of their food? Do you like a Special Cansi beef that tasted like an ordinary bland tasting, pale, unpleasantly-looking beef Nilaga? With no Annatto powder and Batwan. Terrible! Ain't expert in food but i know what I am talking inasmuch as I have tasted the best Cansi in the best restaurants in Bacolod. with almost the same price, couldn't help but to compare. We ordered a lot because we were a group of 13 people coming from a long trip, their food were really awful, we did cancel the last order since it took them forever preparing it. I hope I could rate this place negative stars, because of their bad food and bad services. You know, I am always lavish in my praises and ratings, but this Balay Tulahan is too much to bear.
