What KRagwell doesn't like about My Thai Maui:
Interesting and quirky little restaurant that has a very unique concept for ordering and delivering food to your table. Average tasting food for an above average price. Looks like a lot of people like this place based on these reviews but I didn’t get it. Have had better Thai food for less. To each his own. View all feedback.
We went in late in the evening but the host was warm and welcoming. The serving experience was digital with menus and ordering via phone. Good amount of vegetarian options as they allow customization on almost all of their dishes. Time to get food to table was quick comparatively and the host made sure to check in on us, food and experience, on a timely manner. They are striving to build a Thai-environment around. Of all we enjoyed the food there, it was tasty and delicious. Good collection of art in the restaurant.Vegetarian options: Allows customization of dishes at minute levels allowing good options for vegetarians.
Food was tasty, authentic brought me back to Thailand. Really thankful there is a place authentic like this with great customer service AND tasty worth-it food, the owners accommodated when there was confusion about gluten-free options also, gave us a free mango sticky rice which came out warm was delicious. I’m picky about my food in general, as I want it tasty, healthy/clean appreciate gluten-free dairy free options worth the price! Food wasn’t greasy, heavy.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
We were looking for late lunch after a drive up to Haleakala and saw the reviews for My Thai. Although it is unusual in concept, once we were seated and the host explained the process, it was a fun adventure. The menu and all dishes ordered were amazing. Do not miss the orange chicken bao bun. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and all of them were excellent. Our only quibble is with an online menu accessed on our iPhones by QR code. Although we have eaten in restaurants with the same process-and honestly do not like it- this one was a little better designed but didn’t download in the same way on all our phones so we had some trouble putting together an order for three people. with disparate displays). Once that was successfully done, one’s meal is announced on mic and left on a counter for the customer to pick up. All plates are prepared as for takeout so paper containers, paper towels for napkin, etc. Overall, it’s takeout that must be ordered onsite. Tables are spaced far apart, in an open garage so very Covid compliant. So; novel concept with an amazing menu and food.
We ordered online for take-out. We wanted a light dinner so we ordered the Maui gold pineapple fried rice. The food was ready when we got to the restaurant. The fried rice was delicious! Good portion size and was enough for the two of us.
Hands down the best Thai dish I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the Khao Soi with chicken as traditionally recommended. It’s a pretty large portion. The photo was taken after I had already eaten what I could! It’s got some spice on its own with the curry base so I didn’t add any extra. That curry base, yum! Very fun little spot too. Enjoyed the open air and upbeat, yet laid back scene. Highly recommend!
