"Excellent service from the moment we sat down. Lovely waiter, interesting, unhurried and very attentive. The meals were superb only the venison could have been a bit warmer. No specific kids menu but happy to serve a kids portion. Well catered gluten free. Beautiful side of vegetables.Timely service and wholesome interaction. A bit pricey but we did eat quality meals. Well done AAA"

"We have had really good nights here in the past, but tonight was very disappointing. Our waiter took our orders but didn't write them down. one meal arrived covered in garlic butter when plain butter was ordered . Another meal ordered with no dressings and arrived with parsley butter. When we asked for this to be rectified we were promptly told just to swap the meals between us. What ever happened to the customer is always right and some good old fashioned service."

"Wonderful spot to stop at for lunch. Tried the salmon quesadilla and the cacao beef nachos, both were of good quality and the service was good. Nice iced mocha as well. I am yet to try the breakfast menu but they had good looking options. Only downside is that we did not receive water at our table (although we didn't make a request). I would gladly stop here again!"

"Super cute cafe a little outside the main town. Has a few vegan options including granola, a vegan stack, burger, and bagels with varying toppings. I’m sure they would be more than happy to accommodate any other menu item vegan or veggie (avo toast etc) Coffee is nice, they did NOT clean the milk wand after steaming non dairy milk so please be warned of this. Very busy, wait time was 15 minutes around for cabinet food and coffee."

"Went to Kaikoura for a function and was delighted to seeing Donegal House back humming after a long hiatus. We were a large group and were able to use the function room, but I noticed the bar/dining room very busy.The meals were delicious, well presented, the staff enthusiastic and so friendly. The gardens are looking great. Thanks James and Kate. I'll be back and so will our group!. Make sure you book for dinner"
