"Fine dining anywhere is a treat but when set against the sunset on a patio overlooking the pacific and Hawaii coast it is a true “dining experience”. In this age of staffing challenges and reconstituting customer service Ulu has not wavered from 5 star service and quality. As always at top tier resorts and restaurants be prepared for hefty prices but the value is absolutely there for the quality of the staff, the kitchen, the bar, and the menu. We had the fresh catch crispy fish (3 pound fish) for four people and it was amazing. Add some Sushi, oysters, fresh vegetables and amazing craft drinks and it is a true evening, not just a meal. We celebrated a birthday there and I can’t think of a better ambience or experience to do it. Will come back."

"The place has a beautiful atmosphere and the server was friendly. we received a discount of 10% because we were guests at the wyndham hotel. eating on the other was just average. the fish and chips and the fish tacos were below the average. the fish was bland. the makai plate was average. but the pommes were excellent."

"Don't let this new chef out of your hands! By far the best cooked and seasoned mahi mahi on the island! Four Seasons can't hold a candle! Kudo's! The wedge salad was the creamiest ever with huge chunks of blue cheese. Garnished beautifully! The ahi ahi clam chowder was deliciously hardy! Service was quick friendly and never far away for any needs. We would have been back if we had stayed longer!! Congrats!"

"Came here every night of my stay in Kona. The laid back relaxed atmosphere along w the friendly bartender made the whole place very comfortable. I prefer darker beers and the Kiawe Vanilla Porter was my absolute favourite. Even the wife who don’t really drink beer enjoyed the hard ciders and hard juice. The fact that they had tasting portions were good for those undecided!"

"Really enjoyed this bar. We sat in a corner booth and it was fantastic. Got to see some talented musicians and enjoyed some greats drinks. Also had great charcuterie board. Perfect for sharing."
