Definitely one of the best Filipino restaurants I’ve been to eat. Reminds me of a home cooked meal. The decor is ecliptic with different things thrown in to make it look like a house. Restaurant is small, but if fills up. There is a good choice of popular dishes with the arroz caldo being the best of the three sampled. Kid-friendliness: Allowed Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult. There is a high step. View all feedback.
What Myra Saunders doesn't like about La Rose Cafe:
The Crispy Pata is big rip off. They sell highest than most filipino store and what do you know you get a small portion for $28 .. all other Filipino food restaurant serves double the size for less View all feedback.
Pretty chill, nice looking aesthetic to this restaurant (though the bathroom layout is strange), but unfortunately please don't eat here.I was eating a side salad and noticed some rotten greens in my salad. I let the server know, who apologized and took it away to give me a new salad...which had even more pieces of rotten leaves in the salad. The server took it away with an apology and a discount, but there is absolutely nothing to say that everyone else who would get salads at this restaurant would be eating rotten food. Also the rice was not cooked well (too much water making it more mushy than rice like), the food was way too salty and literally dripping with oil, which caused me to have nausea and stomach aches after.I've never been to a restaurant that A) served me rotten food, and B) after having it brought to their attention, KNOWINGLY served me rotten food. Massive red flag and I hope you take this into account.
While we were in LA, my wife wanted to get some Filipino food. Found this place and tried it out. It was fantastic. The waiter was kind and prompt. The food was everything we wanted and more. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
Excellent experience in this Filipino restaurant, very welcoming owner, in a home-like atmosphere. We will come back!!!
Excited to try this restaurant, walked from Hollywood/Kenmore to try this popular LA filipino restaurant. Beautiful, quaint restaurant on Fountain New Hampshire, however, the food is sub par and disappointing. Misleading, why advertise ilokano style then serve pinakbet tagalog style? Also, the loganisa did not seem as stated ilokano. I do not mind spending for good cuisine, I think that LA Rose is overrated for popular filipino cuisine. I left a generous tip for less than ok service just because I wanted to support my fellow pinoys/pinays. Just a suggestion, check other local filipinoy restaurants like Parks Finest or HiFi or even Good old OinPing.
Delicious Filipino food with warm and friendly service. They treated you like family.Loved the bangus, dessert and all the vegetable dishes. Will definitely return! Salamat.
