What O Q doesn't like about Ipho Tower:
During our 2-week vacation in Kansas City, we typically paid with my credit card. However, we used my wife's card at this particular restaurant and the next day we discovered a $200 charge for a wine purchase in the United Kingdom. It seems that our card was cloned at this restaurant. The food was inexpensive but not very good. Proceed with caution when using your credit card at this establishment! View all feedback.
We needed a break from all the BBQ and settled on Pho Tower. The place is small and has a very simple feel. Menu features pho, vermicelli and rice dishes along with a few appetizer staples. We got spring rolls (very fresh), pho with brisket (brisket was a bit chewy, but still good overall especially with fresh herbs )and steak vermicelli (very good). Very big portions and very reasonable prices. Not sure if our waiter was also the owner, but he was super funny and nice. The rest of the staff also seemed very friendly.
Service was quick. Waitress was nice and knowledgeable though she was a bit pushy trying to get us to pick the pork bahn mi. She was right though the pork was delicious. My fiance got the house bahn mi which had a selection of meats. My fiance agrees he would get the pork next time. We got the steamed dumplings for our app they were delicious though my fiance would like to try the fried ones next time. The pho was okay it wasn't my favorite pho but it wasn't bad. This will definitely not be replacing our favorite local Vietnamese place but we might go back again.I'm still a bit confused on where the French part of the name comes in it's a good pun but nothing felt French other then the decor. It is a darker space since it looks to be an old bar. Overall okay.
Absolutely phenomenal! I had the chicken pho, the chicken was super yummy, the noodles were perfect, and the broth was the best I’ve ever had. The broth was a little more on the gingery side, but was not over powering at all! We had the spring rolls to start, the peanut sauce was delicious, but not sure what the rubber texture was in with the lettuce, shrimp and carrots.
Stopped by this gem before checking in to our hotel. You would not know this place existed until you were actively looking, but everyone needs to try the food at this place. The service was fast and the waitress was friendly. Upon sitting us down, she was very attentive and gave us plenty of time to order. Once we ordered, it was less than 10 minutes until we received our food. My wife got the vermicelli bowl with beef and she wished there was more flavor to it. The shrimp rolls were packed with shrimp and crunchy. My wife had a nice, flavorful broth with plenty of protein and noodles. Inside looked very old, but clean. Definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for Vietnamese food!
The bbq pork buns and hot pho is nothing short of awesome here. It's simple, nothing fancy but the food is good quality. Fresh herbs served on a plate with you soup. Always hot and made to order.Food: 5/5
