"The Oxford Pub is another inspiring pub in the city centre of Karlsruhe and closes the high quality of the Oxford Café, which is just a street corner. With a very beautiful flair and proximity to Karlsruhe University, it is a starting point for young people and students, speciality are Burger too. I ordered the Farmer Burger, who came to the table quickly and freshly. The meat was very juicy here and before all the sauce has tasted very delicious. In addition, there was a campus Ale, which can be obtained here as a traditional student beer at a very reasonable price of 2 euros. In general, you cannot complain for prices at all. Also the service was very good, the food was very fast there and the service friendly. So the Oxford Pub is a real secret tip to meet with friends and colleagues without having to spend too much money."

"The hunger at noon has sent me more often over the Rhine in recent weeks. There are plenty of lunches in the opposite fan town. From Wörth you get to the westernmost district of Knielingen. The local lunch addresses (fischerhaus, Schuhs, Mediterran) I have largely abbreviated and documented here on GG. That was a year ago. However, the Karlsruhe gastro landscape also shows itself alive and so since the beginning of this year I was already four times a guest at Fashion Asia Grill, a new partner-local opened in early May 2018 by Karlsruher Vorshowejapaners Kaiseki. In the midst of the jewellery-free Daxlanden district dominated by industry and industry, this Asia-Lokal is not particularly originally named. Outside, the inconspicuous corner house does not stand out from the housing estate that has come into the years, in which one would hardly suspect it. If there weren't the large-format banners that show a few dishes next to the logo, you'd go past it smoothly. In addition, its offshore situation does not allow accidental occurrence. Here, as a lover of Far Eastern delicacies, you have to get on the way. And this is worth it, so much I can send out. The Chinese chef Hong Lang Wang, who also runs the culinary skills of Kaiseki in the city centre, is responsible for the creations and therefore swings back and forth between the two locations. Wang is a chef with a lot of experience, has already worked in various Nobelschuppen and upscale hotel kitchens around the globe (e.g. in the Catalan three-star temple “El Celler de Can Roca” and is well known with various Asian kitchen styles. His idea of anchoring a completely new, innovative concept in Asia food in Karlsruhe, he explained to me in a nice chat. According to Wang, the Fashion Asia Grill completely dispenses with flavor enhancers and attaches great value to fresh ingredients and quality. In addition, according to Korean tradition, the dishes can be prepared at the table itself. There are two ways to do this: either grill the ingredients directly at the table or throw them into the Asian fire pot (Sukiyaki, where they simmer in front of themselves. No matter what one decides, the social aspect of food intake is further promoted. Fondue and Raclette fans know what I'm talking about. The evening selection is diverse. Marinated roastbeef, lamb chops, pork belly, ribs or chicken legs offer a wide variety of barbecue facilities at the table. To whom the sense of taste is more like fish and seafood, there is a choice between giant cloves, squid, butterfish and clams. Veggies with a table-grillambition can look forward to sweet potatoes in garlic oil and sesammarinade. Or they choose the Asian fire pot with Kimchi, vegetables and tofu. Asia-Gourmands, standing on fried noodles, rice pans and omeletts, are also found here. Prices range from 10 to 15 euros. Only the Sukiyaki variants are over there. At noon, these extraordinary preparations at the table are only possible on pre-ordering, which has not yet allowed me to enjoy. The lunch menu is limited to twelve different dishes that are always served simultaneously with Miso soup, Krautsalat, two Mandus (Korea dumplings and a small dessert). A third of the lunch offer, which is priced between 8 and 15 euros, I have incorporated myself in the last two months and was always very satisfied. Even if I left the peel of herb salad regularly, as it is not to my taste. The service at Fashion Asia Grill is always friendly and well presented. With the head, Mrs Lee, who now looks at me as a regular guest, you can easily get in touch. She willingly provide information about the ingredients used, the handsome Sake collection in the glass showcase, and the mainly trafficked audience, which is already wondering about the appearance of German guests on Asian “home evenings”. Asians like to eat and long. Most visitors from the Far East seem to enjoy the opportunity to operate from a pot or a common plate at the table and to be able to exchange communicatively in the heart. The same was observed during my visits at noon. China-Kitsch was largely dispensed with when setting up the restaurant. Instead, clear lines and square shapes dominate. There are also some futuristic lamp shades from the ceiling. All tables are equipped in the middle with a gas grill. One sits on attractively designed, very comfortably padded chairs with artificial leather cover or on sofa-like wall benches with a pleasantly soft backrest, also covered with leather imitation. If one sits close to the area of the counters designed by bright LEDs and red artificial flowers, the view inevitably falls on the plastic fish that the risky interior design has installed as a peculiar fish mobile. Well, it seems like the Asians coming in here. Behind two sliding doors (Shoji is waiting for another guest room that has been reconciled with a traditional Tatami room. The insulating mats made of rice straw have been dispensed with, yet one can make them comfortable on the floor, as appropriate seat cushions are available. Only four tables embedded in the wooden floor (all with integrated grill houses this cozy Séparée. Due to the lowering in the area of the tables, guests without a slope to the Seiza seat can also find enough space to let their legs dangle. A few paravents complete the traditional Japanese feeling at dinner. Speaking of food: the first time I woke up here in early January, I decided for the roasted beef on rice and vegetables (11.90 euros) served in a stone dish. At the table I was told that one had to mix the homemade, pasty chili sauce with the hot contents of the bowl. With the mirror egg on top and the Shitake pills my first rice bowl was a full-bodied Umami bomb of pleasant sharpness. The vegetables still had light bite, while the beef cut into stripes contributed a fine spice. Well, I guess it was a professional marinate. Overall, the quantity was a completely sufficient portion which did not provoke glutamate bite on the tongue. A one-dimensional aroma construct based on soybeans, which in some Otto-Normal-Chineseses is seen as a gustatory background noise, has been omitted here for praise. Instead, the rice dish scored with a well balanced combination of seasoning, freshness and acidity. My father, who made me company that day, also praised his fried beef, which started his way out of the wok with abundant vegetable and glass nudelas resistance. He was also very enthusiastic about his first palate experience at Fashin Asia Grill. At my second arrival, I had one of my colleagues in the tow. While after my advice he opted for roasted beef on rice and vegetables, I chose the variant with the cylindrical Korean rice biscuits (Tteok , which at first glance seemed like unhealthy, thick penne noodles. The Gochujang-Chili sauce came into the metal bowl in sufficient quantity and European-drawn sharpness. In combination with soybeans, spring onions and sesame, this resulted in an extremely tasty Tteokbokki, which is a popular street food dish in Korean cuisine. The 12.90 euros were definitely well designed. Especially as the Mandus handed over a delicious appetizer. I had just put it in terms of Korea food Kimchi, moved it to the culinary Japan for my third time. This time I didn't exchange the Miso soup for a vegetable or meat broth, but instead sat down slopingly with the soy paste infusion. Only from the herb salad I left my fingers. As a main dish there was a tonate cut into stripes (panned pig carving in the shell of my trust. A curry sauce with fried carrots and potatoes provided for the fresh underbuilding. A neat handful of scented rice completes the crispy-pid Asian carving experience. For 10.90 euros (including the already mentioned “accompanied material” this was an extremely fairly calculated lunch table. The last return then took place together with my heartmate. We were on the way home from the winter holiday of Austria and arrived in Daxlanden after a good four-hour drive. At two tables, Asian guests tasted their marinated barbecues around the bet. They could taste their self-grilled dishes. For thirst it should be a homemade lemongras tea with mint and honey (0.5 l for 4.30 Euro . Just like the somewhat oversweet, normal ice tea (same price I had stretched a few weeks before with mineral water, it was also served in a one-piece glass with lid and straw. Beverage prices fall slightly higher in Fashion Asia Grill (as opposed to food). That's what I've seen in my previous stipp sight. I find 3.30 euros for half a liter of Gerolsteiner mineral water a bit shaky. The natural beer from the Black Forest called “Waldhaus ohne Filter” (0.5 l beat 4.10. In combination with the low-price lunch menus, however, the total package that never burst the 20 euro limit for a person was matched. I was also very happy with my fourth lunch bowl. The fried beef (12.80 euros) was combined with Udon noodles. Pak Choi, sprouts, and spring onions provided vegetabile freshness, while roasted sesame seeds contributed nussig-aromatic accents. Also my companion was amazed when she saw the tray with four smaller bowls and a large bowl standing in front. In their purely vegetarian bowl, various varieties of vegetables, all fermented in kimchi style, i.e. were previously inlaid with certain spices, were on a solid rice basis. The chili sauce came in an extra bowl and had to be lifted. A few pieces of tofu (panned and fried lay on top as a small textured addition. The accompanying herb salad was also very good. Not to mention the Miso soup and the Mandus. With just 7.90 euros for the complete menu, even the most economical vegetarian cannot mecker. The pleasant palate experiences at noon have attracted my interest in an evening Asian pot or a table-grille event. I assume we'll test the evening program with friends soon. For lunch, I can see the Asia-Local, which is now also listed at the Michelin Guide (see [here link] only highly recommended."
