"Bought pies, salads, porridge and chocolate to take back to rental cottage. Absolutely wonderful food actually nicer than the eye watering costly meal we'd had out in Grasmere the day before and for a fraction of the price. Pies were Lancashire cheese and onion and the Dhal Gobi. Delicious. The owners were lovely too even though my attempts at the self serve bit were poor. And the chocolate selection wow. You will definitely turn your nose up at the overpriced, sugar laden stuff sold elsewhere in Ambleside after eating the brands they stock. Not cheap but actually worth every penny. You get what you pay for and this place stocks healthy,tasty fuel not calorific rubbish."

"Probably one of the best ice creams I had in the usa! the vegan choc skyberry sorbet and carrot cake are two delicious aromas! if they are an ice cream lover, the generous creatures will not disappoint them!"

"Visited this Cafe yesterday morning for breakfast and was taken by the cold unfriendly approach adopted by the waitress towards me. Whether it was to do with Coronavirus problem who knows. Entered the Cafe mask on plus sanitized hands and asked by waitress (What do you want) not good morning or how can I help? I ordered a breakfast and sat down to a lovely view across the lake. My tea was in a paper cup and received my breakfast over my shoulder in a take away box with wooden knife and fork. No asking how my breakfast was because it was good, if they'd ask? I had no contact from the staff until I left the cafe where the waitress said thank you. Unfriendly, cold and atmosphere, doesn't make me go back again. I travel for work, smartly dressed and polite and don't deserve this attitude even in a pandemtic."
