The food here is exceptional! The staff is wonderful and the dinner space is stunning. This is a fantastic place to dine with delicious craft cocktails. Forget about BOATHOUSE and come here instead. View all feedback.
What Judy Cooper doesn't like about 50 Local:
The service was much better than the food and value at this restaurant. The crab cake was tasty but the size of a meatball for $14, and the crispy egg salad was a crusted poached egg on a bed of plain lettuce for $16 with no tomatoes, olives, or cucumbers which would have made it more impressive. Anchovies were an additional $4, and bread with olive oil (no butter) was also $4 extra. The rest of the meal was forgetta... View all feedback.
I just moved to the area recently (on the Kennebunk side of Wells and happened upon 50 Local last summer. It was fabulous! And we've been there several times since and have never been disappointed! We bring family and friends there as often as we can when they are visiting. The staff are excellent, fabulous cocktails, very creative and locally sourced dishes, super cool, low key, cozy atmosphere. Love it! The bar is cool to just chill with a drink and maybe a sharing of the cheese charcuterie board (yum I can't say enough. Love it, looking forward to going back soon! (PS was just there this past week and tried the French onion meatballs appy....UNREAL ??
This place is amazing! It’s got a great vibe, super knowledgeable and friendly staff, and I could eat that food every day of my life. Our group just picked a lot of things off the menu to share so I got to try a decent amount of their offerings. Everything I tried was better than the last. the presentation, the flavor combination, the timing of every plate, it was all perfect! The drinks did not disappoint either. The cocktail menu was very creative, the wine selection was unique and exciting and the bartender with all the curly hair is my new best friend. Long story short, if you’re in Kennebunk for five days I would suggest making six reservations here…
From the moment you walk-in, you're in good hands. We were seated by a very lovely women, whom we found later to be the owner. Wine, beer and cocktail offerings are above your expectations. Cocktails being so innovative and impressive with homemade shrub and syrups. Our server was not short in information. Knowing each kind of oyster and where they were from down to everything you need to know about each incredible, homemade pasta dish. And, who could forget the bread? We had to have two baskets. We had to take a look at dessert before we left and weather you like your sweets in solid or liquid form, you won't be disappointed. We will be back!
When they come through the side entrance, there is a nice gift shop that they need to check. 50 natives also had a baby name 58 main. look at my photos. you can also park there on the main street for two hours. the personal was pleasant and seemed like they were happy to be there. apparently the owners must treat the employees properly. this restaurant must be on its list. this place was poppin.? blake was our server and he took care of us. I can tell them that the server is exceptional when they hear their names vs apologise me, they apologise me they know exactly where they turn when they hear their names. the food and ambiente was excellent. reservations are required. they go to 5p and they have the place for themselves. get the salat with the Poachds egg upstairs. perfect for the light esser or hot summer evening. the crab? pie are served on a thick wooden paddle with spicy mayo and spiced swirls. the cake itself does not serve as a meatball form as a cake/paddy. I had the muselfries (i.e. the fries served on the mosquitoes) on the side to ask for them. If you're a Bourbon draughter and are old-fashioned, don't get enticed, and you feel like you have an esel? type of the day? ask for a maultier, they'll make you one. the fresh hot brot from the often (at least 5p) and the filtered water for the table.
This place never disappointed. cozy mood that comes to silence. the homemade brot is excellent and the snouts/cocktails are raised. local ingredients made with obvious care. a little on the pricier side, but so it is worth it! the crabcake was the best I ever had- packed with real crumb meat, piping hot and the mix of seasoning with the remoulade was perfection. I loved it!
