We ordered the satay tofu as an appetizer and it was a very, very tasty dish. It is different from Thai satay, but so refreshing and on a bed of fresh lettuce. Really, for $4.99 could be a small meal with a side of rice. My daughter had the miso ramen soup and stated that it was delicious. I had the scallop teriyaki and the sauce was very well balanced and the veggies cooked to perfection. The sushi that was getting... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pacific East Japanese And Maylaysian:
First served was soup. I didn’t like the flavor at all. Then our salad came. It was lettuce and dressing. It was just okay. Then my hibachi shrimp and fried rice came. It was wonderful. It was so flavorful. I would go back again. I just wouldn’t order any soup. View all feedback.
Awesome find by Kent State University. I am guessing this is a family owned and operated restaurant as it definitely gives that vibe. Food, service, atmosphere all excellent. Our server, Jeffrey, was very nice and checked on us just the right amount despite him waiting on many tables. My son ordered bibimbap with tofu and the version with chicken was brought out instead. We brought it to our server’s attention and they brought out the version about 10 minutes later (reasonable time to cook up the new dish). They were very apologetic about the mixup.Vegetarian options: At least eight vegetarian entrees, nice variety.Parking: Street parking with meters.
The sushi always tastes great, but the ramen is really disappointing. The Tonkatsu ramen broth tastes nothing like pork or any other tonkatsu ramen I've ever had. It honestly just tastes of the overwhelming amount of bean sprouts they put in my order. The egg is super hard boiled (like eith the grey ring around the yolk). The green onions, nori, and bamboo pieces are all fine. The chicken katsu was really dry and I didn't personally like the ketchup-y/ Worcestershire sauce-y dipping sauce that came with it. I may equate the dry chicken to ordering pick up instead of dining in.In conclusion- Sushi= 5/5. Ramen= 1/5. For an average of 3/5
Have been here 3 times now very good but last night probably the best sushi I've ever had thanks to the chef!!!!!!Service was right on also!!!!!Food: 5/5
I've only had the ramen here. It was great. Eggs are hard boiled instead of soft boiled but whatever on that. Daughter said the sweet potato rolls are really good too. Staff is always kind and food comes out pretty fast. We eat here whenever we're in the area.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly
